I stopped at the Fox because they allow overnight parking of motorhomes, if you use their pub/dining facilities. I had a quiet night, a couple of beers and three courses of food. All pretty good, although the crumble could have been better.

Brilliant pub with large carpark and gravel area. Ideal stopover for motorhomes. Excellent food, very friendly staff. Uk needs more places like this...

Visited today with 2 friends, for a pre-booked Celebration Meal. They ate cod loin with seasonal vegetables and my husband and myself had roast beef and roast turkey. We all found our meals dry and bland, the roast potatoes were barely cooked and certainly not crisp and tasty. Our friends were amazed to have sprouts as one of the veg with the fish. All the meals were completely lacking in flavour and had perhaps been re-heated in a microwave. There was very little gravy with the roasts and the cranberry and horseradish sauce only appeared when requested. Our friends were amazed that their fish was not cooked in a sauce, but that it was just an addition. All the food was just about warm, not piping hot. The desserts were just about as described, nothing fantastic. The waitress was pretty surly and swore under her breath when we described the food as bland, stating she didn't cook it, no apology, she didn't know what to say was the only comment she made and there was no attempt to bring the chef to our table, when we suggested that we speak to him directly. I suspect there was no chef on a Monday lunch-time and there was no civility either from thw waitress. We have visited this pub before, when the landlady and landlord have been present, perhaps Monday is their day off, certainly we felt very disappointed by our experience today. Last year we had a Christmas Style Lunch with family at a local garden centre for about the sane price, but there the similarity ended, their food was freshly cooked, tasty and the waitress very efficient and friendly, think we know where we will...

A pleasant place that has done food at a bargain price - but last time I passed the sign for that had dissappeared. Handy after shopping at Cribbs Causeway if you know how to find it.

It can get crowded (at lunchtimes) with mostly lady pensioners drinking tea or coffee. (Country pubs these days seem to have taken over from the Ye Olde Tea Shoppes.)

On other occasions it has been mysteriously full of middle-aged people all dressed in black. First time I thought it was a funeral, but I have found them in here several times (and left them to it). Monthly meeting of the Bristol Black Clothes...

We called here on 11/9/20 there were 6 of us. We had 2 tables outside. They had really excellent covid measures in place. An in entrance into the pub and separate exit. They came and took our drinks order and staff wore face shields. Plenty of hand sanitisation available. They took our food order at the table and when the food arrived it was lovely. Good quality hot and tasty. We had a little flag which we could raise if we wanted anything else. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Whether you just want a drink or food this is definitely worth a visit. We felt...
