3 of us on bikes visited here one chilly damp morning for a pre booked breakfast during one covid times. Phoned the day before to book a table and was greeted by lovely warm friendly staff. Breakfast was delicious and prompt. Cakes looked amazing thou managed to resist. If your a cyclist who’s looking for a stop then you can’t do much wrong here. Or if you just fancy somewhere nice for a cup of tea and cake. Either way whatever takes your fancy this place is worth a visit. And it’s supporting local trade. 👍🏻

This place is such a little gem, the food was outstanding and hot chocolates were 10/10. Wasn’t too busy either which was nice. It’s dog friendly inside as well which was a bonus! Staff were all really lovely as well, very smiley and polite!

Best breakfast I’ve had in a long time, bacon roll and a couple of fried eggs were pretty sweet. Great service, good price, and a dog friendly area as a bonus! Will call again if we are in the area.

I take my gran here often. Staff are so helpful and accommodating. There is accessible parking just outside and you can book a table if you want to, so I always ask for one near the door to save my gran much walking. It is next to a radiator too, so it keeps her toastie in winter. My gran enjoys lunches out and this place is always her choice. Staff are accommodating if we request a smaller meal, as a big plateful puts my gran off eating. Changing daily specials. Homecooked food, generous portions and very well presented. Staff all work hard and always have a welcoming smile. There is some outside seating too and being at the garden centre you can walk around it before or after. Coffee is good and have lovely homemade desserts in the display chiller....

Coming back after refit and general change round and we weren’t disappointed had the Oakham plater for two with my Father-in-law and it was superb my wife had the Greek salad which was great as well We decided to have a Cider to accompany our meal and my father in law had a lager he likes a drop of lime in it as he’s not a big drinker but had no cordial so had fresh lime instead which was fine The Cider was more of a challenge and being a ex Drayman who’s job was to deliver beer I kind of know my stuff it was a nice vintage Cider which if I was at home and not planning on going anywhere would be fine at 12% ABV it’s a bit strong for a lunch time tipple Overall great place and...

Today was my first visit under the New Management, and upon arrival was impressed by what I saw. Staff immediately acknowledged our arrival and pointed us to a free table, already prepared for the first customers of the day. A very friendly waitress arrived straight away with menus and took our coffee and breakfast food order. The New Village Cafe, had good sensible background music playing which added to the atmosphere. The coffee was good and both our sausage baps arrived quickly were excellent. With no parking difficulties and good opening times, a prompt return visit is likely. Thanks again to our waitress who...
