Used to love this place but never been with my pram before. Now I’ll never go again! I went on 2 buses in all weathers today to bring my kids to this soft play for them to have fun I have 2 boys ages 4/6 and a 6 month old baby, who was fast asleep. Well they ran around having some fun I had hoped to get half an hour to myself with a drink and some quiet time well baby slept , i just wanted to sit down and enjoy myself best I could too instead I ended up stud at the counter with my baby asleep because they wouldn’t let me take the stroller in. I asked for the manager he was no help either saying he understands as he has kids too! Well I’m sorry but he does not understand not a bit ! Waffling on saying it’s insurance policy absolute rubbish! I have been to plenty of soft plays with my kids and I have never once had an issue taking my pram in anywhere I don’t even have a huge pram it’s the bugaboo butterfly! And he said if he lets me in he would have to do it for others! Well maybe have a limit of how many ? It’s ok for wheelchairs though! Nothing against wheelchair users but it’s exactly the same thing. It’s ok to have tables plonked everywhere across the room too but not a pram! Why open a soft play for kids aimed at kids so obviously people will have pushchairs and then not allow babies in them especially young babies at that!!! I will never ever be back now I used to rave over this place and how reasonable the price is for the kids to play, but not anymore ! I also had to juggle my kid’s jumpers and baby bag and baby well my Child went to the toilet and tried to help him push the tap down to wash his hands as he couldn’t do it all well juggling a baby and all our stuff. You should be embarrassed of your service ! I would have walked back out but I promised my kids they could go which is the only reason I give the company my money!

We visited on a very, very wet Tuesday lunchtime. I am guessing this is why it was very quiet. It was my first time at the George and Dragon and my partner's third visit. I was surprised at how big the George and Dragon is. There were approximately three other couples dining so plenty of space if you want a quiet lunch. We were greeted as soon as we entered and soon found a nice clean booth to sit at. Within a few minutes, we were brought the Lunch Club menu and the normal menu. We ordered our drinks: a glass of house red wine and an appletizer. Very nice house red. I had a chicken burger, and my partner had fish and chips. Both meals were good portions at a good price for a lunchtime offer. The only reason we haven't given the review 5 stars is for the fact that my partner's meal came with a chipped ramekin that had tarter sauce in it. As the lunchtime menu offers a desert for £3, I tried the chocolate Fudge cake with ice cream. Very nice indeed. To finish off, we had a cappuccino and a tea. Both drinks came with an absolutely delicious little chocolate cookie. My partner just happened to mention she can't eat milk chocholate. So Steph, who served us, brought her some shortbread. A very nice gesture and great customer service. Top tip: swop fries for the tripple cooked chips. I had fries with my burger, and they were nice. My partner gave me a few of her tripple cooked chips. Wow, probably the best chips I have ever eaten. I also had a little piece of her fish. Fish and chips for me the next time we visit. I can imagine the Geroge and Dragon being very busy as apart from excellent food and top-class customer service, it also has a large children's play area inside and outside. The car park is large enough to accommodate plenty of cars. We both highly recommend the Geroge and Dragon.

Ordered food and drinks to eat outside on the benches in the sun with our dog. Benches were old and speckled with bird poo. Picked a decent one and ordered food at the bar. Asked for an item off the menu displayed at the door but was advised it wasn’t available (sharing board) and so had to order off a paper menu at the till. We got a steak baguette, garlic ciabatta with cheese and an off-menu ‘special’ of chicken loaded chips (I was advised this would be sweet chilli sauce, chicken, cheese and spring onion on fries). The food arrived and I was immediately disappointed. The special was fries loaded with cheese, tomato sauce, barbecue sauce , red onion, and what appeared to be small pre-cooked bits of chicken (the type you find in the freezer section of a supermarket). It tasted very odd, like a slap up meal a student might make after being out all night - but I ate what I could as I was starving. If it wasn’t for the garlic bread, I would have requested my money back. My boyfriend said he didn’t mind his steak baguette in the end - it was supposed to come with caramelised onions but they were barely transparent, and supposed to come with fries, but came with home-style chips instead (but that’s always a win). Drinks were standard. Outdoor area could use some work to be brought up to date, i.e., benches sanded and painted, fence panels put in to disconnect from the car park, lights and decorations, all to make it feel like your not sat on a patch of grass at the side of the road. Overall, service was disappointing and won’t be returning anytime soon. Really unfortunate as the pub is situated in a great area and has a lot of potential, especially for families with kids since bents is down the road.

Terrible in every way. Restaurant was empty bar one other table. Started off receiving table service but never came to take our food order. Very basic menu. Toilets and baby change disgusting, didnt even want to touch the tap to wash our hands!

We ordered from the bar, 4 adults meals and 2 children’s, priced over £100. We asked for the starters to come with rest of the food. After 25 mins the starters arrived with one child’s meal. That was it for another 40 minutes. One child sat waiting for their food to come whilst the other is eating the raw chips and cold beans.

Eventually we asked the staff what was going on and were coldly told the 2nd child’s meal is on its way.

Another 15 minutes and all the adults meals came out one by one. Two smash burgers that were like boulders, overcooked and under seasoned. No sauce or butter on the buns very dry. No condiments on the table and nobody around to ask for any. The chips were anaemic. Halloumi fry main’s were slabs of soggy batter with cold cheese inside. Again no garnish or seasoning.

Most of the food we were served was left untouched as it was simply inedible.

After leaving the restaurant we headed to the indoor play area, greeted with a smile from the 2 young staff working in there. Both very nice and offered the children some leftover sweets from the previous party.

Play area was filthy, tables covered in unknown liquids and chips all over the floor, stuck to children’s socks etc!

We noticed one of the young workers crying behind the desk, we checked on her as she couldn’t have been much older than 16. She had been treated horribly by the owner and his wife, spoken to abusively and drove to tears. Despite the owners wife often leaving their children with her for free childcare whilst she was working. We left after we knew she had someone coming to pick her up, only to hear and see the owner continuing the verbal abuse of the young girl possibly a third of his age from the outdoor park. On leaving he was angrily shouting whilst entering the restaurant. Not a very nice man and all in front of our toddlers!

Avoid at all costs and don’t apply for a job here unless you want to be enslaved to this man and work in...
