The Green Tree 1727 — Restaurant in England

I don't think I have ever left a negative review - but this was one of the worst dining experiences of my life. Various things went wrong - including not letting us order a gluten free roast dinner, the staff diminishing a wheat allergy as 'not coeliac disease' and items not being delivered - but by far the worst was that when we provided some polite feedback, we had first one member of staff and then the duty manager laugh at us. They were clearly incapable or unwilling of learning from the experience. I would never go back and would advise others to stay away.

Edit: for anyone seeing that the owner has now replied and accused me of 'antisocial behaviour', I should just state that this is patently untrue.

I think the fact that they are now attempting (without grounds, of course) to libel me, rather than address the issues which I very politely raised in response to being asked at the end of my meal 'how was everything?', should be enough for anyone to make their own judgement about this place. I very much hope this was an unfortunate series of isolated incidents - but my reservations about the management are now even...

Fantastic Sunday Lunch. Portion size was incredible. After getting off at wrong bus stop we nipped in the Daleside Arms because we thought we would have ages to walk they were quite rude in manner of telling us we have book. It's just as well because we set out to go to the Green Tree right from the word Go!!.

We ended up getting here later than planned as we had walk bit further. But the Staff were great and bent over backwards squeeze us in. It was towards end of Sunday Lunch but they checked with Kitchen and made us feel like it was not a problem. We had a Child and baby who was flat out in pushchair.

Popped in today at 2pm with my husband and 6 year old son, promptly ordered our food and got drinks. There were a couple of tables but definitely not busy busy. Long story short, we still hadn't received any food or an apology for that matter an hour and a half later. Was told by the lady that she had checked in the kitchen, it was nearly done. Twice... then after another 10 minutes I asked for my money back, same staff member informed me she couldn't give a refund as the order was already put through?
