Since the reopening of hospitality, I've visited The Greyhound for food a number of times. Food and service aside for a minute, how Tara & Danny have kept on top of legislation to stay COVID compliant needs a mention of its own, from the heated outdoor/covered areas to the well spaced and descreatly placed screens and sanitising stations, they've dealt with the changes and adapted without comprimising their incredible/personal service.

Drink You can tell Tara is a fan of a Gin, the selection is quite impressive, quite a few of which I've never seen anf will make a point of trying. My 'Go To' pint is a Birra Moretti served on draft here but there's quite a few real ales if you're not a fan of a 'Euro Fizz.

Food Country pub dinning at its best under the watchful eye of head chef Danny, it took me a while to bring myself to order anything but the incredible burger they offer with it being quite adictive but was quite recently blown away by the Fillet Steak with Pepper Sauce so I'm going to be torn on my next visit. Looking for something lighter? I can also recommend their sandwich selection, perfect for a lunch visit too...

Been meaning to write this review for a while, now I have it's reminded me of how much I like it there and will need to...

One of the best places I have ever been in. I'm no chef or expert but for starters we had broccoli and blue cheese soup. Firstly you could taste the broccoli and then the cheese ,followed by the fresh black pepper. The steak was fresh .thick and just melted in my mouth .I have never had a steak like it. The syrup sponge was soft, fluffy and not stodgy. You could taste the egg, vanilla and home made custard. WOW . when the proprietor found out we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, she brought out a dish of home made fudge and marshmallow with the words happy anniversary in chocolate She went out the extra mile to ensure we had an enjoyable evening . I have never experienced such service before.the food is equal to that of 4:star hotel. Check out the toilets too you will be amazed as you think your in a hotel. Thank you for a fantastic evening. The foods not cheap but its worth every penny as the quality is nothing short than impeccable . I strongly reccomend the grayhound Inn for an unhurried night out. You feel like a valued customer. The couple who run it are genuine and clearly enjoy what...

Previously one of my favourite pubs in Wiltshire, the greyhound has definitely reacted to the new way of working with aplomb, though over the last few months the experience has definitely changed too. Having managed to blend a really stunning offering of quality, super tasty and great value food with a gastropub service and stunning plates. Now however the venue is far more akin to a standard village pub, which does a brilliant job of catering to hungry families and those looking for a decent meal. No faults on the usual pub-grub offerings though a bit of a sad serving of an end of link beef fillet and packet-mustard on the side means this isn't quite up to the standard of yesteryears. Stunning wine list however with a delight to find Cab-Sav by the glass and a proper choice of white wine & sparkling available too. Definitely still on my list of places to go again and will very much look forward to the times I do, though gammon / fish pie / prawn cocktail advised...

They had lambs in a pen outside crying for their mom who was nowhere to be found which was sad. The service was slow and at times we felt ignored because of the location of our table. Loved that they allow dogs inside (except in the back which had nicer tables). They also have an outdoor seating area that looked nice. My fish with the fish n chips was more bland than expected and the batter was more like tempura which I didn’t like. The fries however (they had two menu items for them — fries referred to the thinner ones) were so good. Loved how crispy and thin they were. The steak my husband had looked raw even though he ordered medium rare but he loved it. First time he’s had steak in awhile and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Came with salad (lettuce, one cucumber slice and one tomato with a light dressing, Italian?) and he asked for fries as a substitute. It’s very close to the Bowood where we stayed which was convenient.

My pal and I randomly ended up in this pub just for a drink, but the lovely atmosphere made us stay longer than we planned. Food time! They have an excellent menu with some thing for every one but we both went for the classic burger and chips as they tempted us with a new Jack Daniels sauce that they had just made. My god it was the best sauce I have ever had, we ordered more of it. The burger and chips were gorgeous too. Now I’m not a desert man but enjoying the atmosphere and tasting the quality of the meal I was tempted. I asked the waitress what her favourite was and she replied ā€œthe raspberry Millefeuilleā€ I had never had one before so ordered it. Oh my god it was amazing. I’ve told every one it’s the best thing I’ve ever eaten. Can’t wait to return with my whole family to celebrate my mums birthday. 5 stars on all fronts.

Went here with my fiancƩe for a date night. Was a lovely meal to be fair. We shared a starter and dessert - had our own meals. The creamy mushrooms were lovely, top job. We then both had the pork belly special - was almost perfect, thought the pork belly was a bit dry at the end and I've had better crackling. The Mustard Mash, Spiced Red Cabbage , Stornoway Black Pudding & Apple Croquette Pork Jus was divine however. The desert was amazing, prob the best bit. The double chocolate browine with chocolate sauce and chocolate icream? 10/10. Would return here to eat though for sure. Attentive staff and a nice beer garden, great service - couldn't fault that!
