Westbrook Inn — Restaurant in England

So disappointed after all the fantastic reviews we have seen. Booked for their famous ribs as daughter has just had her braces off & able to eat them now. Seemed disorganised from the start ? new staff. Waited 45minutes for our meals to arrive for a 5.30pm booking (as we also have a young child) very few others in the restaurant. A mix up with my meal & wrong sides with the ribs, kids meal of pasta came out nuked & had to leave for some time until our son could eat it, thankfully I had brought distractions. Table next to us must have been locals as seemed to be very looked after as managed two courses in the time it took for our one. They were also asked several times if everything was ok. The lady also had the famous ribs which looked a much more professional plate. Altogether a disappointing evening as had traveled there specifically with all the great reviews, hopefully this is just a blip but not an enjoyable meal...

We had a birthday meal at the Westbrook for six of us last night. Haven't been in the pub for decades but had been hearing good things about it so decided to visit. It certainly didn't disappoint! Very attentive staff, a nice varied menu and a good pint of beer. Even though I'm not a vegan or a vegetarian the description of the "Vegan Wellington" with puy lentils, sun dried tomatoes and spinach wrapped in a puff pastry and served with vegetables was enough to make me order it. I had the pleasure of dining at The Westbrook last night 27th November. We were a party of 4 ladies. On entering the Westbrook we were greeted with a smile and shown to our table. Drinks order taken. Lots of choice on the menu. Food came quickly. Piping hot. And presented beautifully. Large portions too. Needless to say we all had empty plates and full tummys. After a little rest all 4 of us chose to have the baked cheesecake. We were not disappointed. The Westbrook is a little gem and well worth visiting.
