With friends during my first ever visit to Seaton Carew we parked the car and quite by accident came across, what turned out to be a "Hidden" gem. Really loved the interior of this restaurant/bar. Firstly the two guys who were front of house were absolutely charming, attentive, friendly and completely professional. The three of us ordered fish and chips, because we had seen another diner tucking in to what seemed such a delicious looking platter. We were not disappointed, the presentation would have put some " exclusive " eateries to shame. We were all astounded by the quality of the food and how they presented what is seen as a " budget " meal into a gastronomic delight. First class in every way and truly real value for money. If you are ever in this area you would be remiss not to visit this first...

This was my first visit to the newly opened Hidden tap and WOW, it will not be the last! I am a wheelchair user and was glad to see that not only is it a step free venue, but they also have a lovely spacious accessible toilet too. Obviously with the bar being a micro cafe/bar, it is quite small - however staff were more than accommodating!

We went for the fish and chips, which did not disappoint. The homemade chunky tartare sauce was out of this world. By far the best we have ever tried. Huge portion sizes and brilliant value for money. We also managed to sink a few of the 2 for £10 cocktails, which were just as good. They were freshly made with real fruit and good measures.

We can't wait to visit this...

What an amazing experience!!! The atmosphere inside is lovely and cosy, but we were absolutely blown away by the service. Our server couldn't do enough for us (wish we'd gotten his name!!!) he was so helpful and attentive, I asked for my margarita extra spicy and he delivered!! When I couldn't handle the heat he offered to re mix it with some mango juice free of charge. The food was unbelievably delicious too and so worth the money! We got the Italian sausage and nduja pizza and BBQ pulled pork loaded chips. I'm not a big meat eater usually but the pizza was to die for! Can't recommend this place enough and we will be back...

What a nice place this is. Not alot of choice around this area for food apart from fish and chips shops, so we decided to try this small hidden gem. Not a disappointment I'm telling you, lovely staff all of them and food was fabulous, not more to comment on but if your in hartlepool this is a definite place to eat and drink. Nice music and very nice food. Staff are very good I must say. Well done to them. Very reasonable price too. Just to say as we were eating and the guy who served us had to leave which I presume was his daily shift and he still asked us if we were OK and the food ok. Top marks to this place really

Well back here again. First visit was very early in the year (2025) and added the review to the Almighty Cod. However, we ate in the Hidden Tap and the food is supplied by the adjoining chippy The Almighty Cod. Yet again we were not disappointed with the quality of food or service, and generous portions. This still rates as some of the best fish and chips I have eaten and would definitely recommend a fish supper if you are visiting. Also exceptional value, four meals and a drink each under £53.
