The Highfield — Restaurant in England

I’m an adult with Tourette’s syndrome and FND, I’m in a wheelchair and supported by an amazing charity that puts on adult groups accessing things we would normally have barriers with… things like bingo, the cinema, and pub quiz nights. By doing these trips we have freedom we wouldn’t normally have that other people wouldn’t think twice about. So many businesses have been amazing with us, when we have had these evenings out they have helped us so much and we have made a huge deal thanking the venues and making those thanks public showing their amazing inclusion. Also by us having our social nights it creates awareness for the public around us to understand Tourette’s and the barriers we face. Unfortunately the high field refused our group to come on quiz night. Tourette’s is a registered disability…. This pub denied a group of neurodiverse disabled people to book in for quiz night… their website says they are dog friendly… but they are not human friendly when it comes to diverse people!!!! Our community is so upset and frankly disgusted....

Having been recommended the pub for dinner for five adults, this was let down. The first red flag was no one was eating (we should have left then). Ordering was simple and quick then delivery took over an hour. The Fish and Chips (this is pub food) had been vaporized, I didn’t find any fish (broke off a few pieces and used the tartare sauce for moisture), the peas must have been from last century. Gammon and Chips, was more like bacon and chips, well over cooked and crispy. The Steak wasn’t bad, I assume they had 2 portions of chips left for 4 portions hence the rationing. 5 of us walked In at 6pm, put our order in for food at 6.20 and was still waiting on our food at 7.30, four meals come out and we had to ask about the 5th meal after a further 10mins, we ordered a few sides that never came even after asking about these as well, we ordered a couple of sharing platters for 2 which was very small and not worth the £11 each at all, the food was mediocre at best, we also heard a few others complaining and getting refunds, we never complained because we’re not the type but we was disappointed and unfortunately we won’t be returning for food which is a shame because it’s a...
