I didn’t stay the night, though The Inn at Yanleigh does offer rooms. I stopped by for some food as it’s really close to Bristol Airport, and I thought I’d eat here instead of grabbing something rubbish at the airport. The place itself is lovely, really modern, and the terrace has a great view, which made it a nice spot to sit and eat. That said, the service wasn’t great. All the staff seemed quite young. The girl who took my order was polite, but she didn’t offer me any cutlery, so I assumed it would come with the food and I’d never been before, so had no idea. When my food arrived, I was just sat there with no cutlery. I asked, and she told me it was by the till. She didn’t offer to grab it for me, even though I was on my own outside with birds about. I went and got it myself, and luckily my food was still there when I got back! Food wise, the Korean fried chicken was really tasty, sweet, super crispy, and the chicken was lovely and tender. The southern fried chicken burger was okay, but didn’t really have that "southern" flavour, a bit lacking in depth. The chips were cooked really well, but weirdly had no salt. Who doesn’t salt their chips? Price wise, it’s close to being worth it, but they really need to improve the service to go beyond being similar to a Weatherspoons to me.

Picturesque setting and well designed interior. The setting of the Inn feels high end without creating that feeling of being out of place if you’re looking for reasonable priced eats. Between the three of us we tried a number of items on the menu. Pie of the day, spaghetti bolognese and D-cut gammon. We were all happy with the meals. The pie of the day was steak and met expectations whilst leaving you satisfied because the portion was large. The bolognese has a sweet tomato taste to it, not overly savoury. The portion size was admittedly small but for the price it was good. I think a lot of people would complain about the portion size of the bolognese but it being small didn’t make you feel bad about ordering a starter or desert. The gammon was what you’d expect of an English pub. Ham, eggs and chips, assembled well in both presentation and flavour. There was plenty of parking on a Saturday evening although I could see it getting busy during events or end of the month. What stands out best for this place is the view across the landscape. Watching the sun set whilst enjoying a few beers is a great experience. The staff are friendly and the restaurant works by ordering at the bar, no waiting around to be noticed by the staff.

This is a review for the restauraunt/bar, as I didn't stay in a room.

I was recommended this place as a good place to stop by and eat. I first used the loos. It looked like the loos weren't regularly checked. There was a used tissue on the floor and I saw another customer look into a cubicle and make a disgusted sound so chose another.

It's really odd, the music playing throughout the building is Heart 90s. You'd think there'd be more of an intentional, ambient playlist, with no ads. Also the speaker system is really tinny and a bit intrusive.

I went to order at the ordering point. The lady there seemed brusque and annoyed at me from the word go. I ordered my meal and drink. I ordered pepsi max, she didn't offer ice, just poured it into the glass. I asked if the music could be turned down a little bit. I'm Neurodivergent, and often have to make this request at cafes and restaurants. A male staff member in a black shirt said it should be fine.

I sat indoors in the glass room at table 24. It looks nicely decorated. Unfortunately, the tinny music doesn't suit the vibe, and a manager with a blue and white short-sleeved shirt was sat in this room making a very loud business call on speakerphone in the restaurant. He could've done that in his office.

The guy in the black shirt told me that it would take him ten minutes to turn down the volume, as the speaker system was in the office. I thanked him, and appreciated the attentive update. However, I don't think my request was ultimately followed through, as the volume remained the same.

The food arrived and a female server with glasses asked if I wanted anything. She had given me the plate of food but no cutlery. I had to ask for cutlery, which I found unusual. I was eating the chicken burger, but wanted to cut it up. The cutlery didn't come with a napkin either. I had to go downstairs to the loos to wash my hands. I felt weird leaving my things unattended, but didn't want someone to take my table. I was by myself.

I think they seem understaffed. There was a friday rush at the bar when I returned, and had to wait ages to be served. They only had two people behind the bar, which then turned to one. I ordered another pepsi, and again was not asked if I wanted ice.

Some reviews have mentioned that it's fairly priced. I think they may be talking about the rooms. The food was not fairly priced. Especially for the service, the vibe, the portion size. £20 overall for a chicken burger with chips and a pepsi. The burger was 15.50 and the drink 3.75. The burger itself was nice, chips were good, but the coleslaw was warm.

I haven't experienced service this bad in a long time. I won't be recommending it to...

My husband and I went out for a celebratory meal for his birthday this selected our table and made a food order for the Yanleigh burger and the vegan burger. We waited about 25 minutes for our food, which is fair enough.

The food looked ok until we started to try to eat it. Firstly we noticed that the crispy onions were missing, which nobody apologised for. Secondly and more importantly, the Yanleigh burger was barely luke warm, and wasn't even warm enough to melt the cheese. I took a couple of bites just because I was hungry. My fries were also cold, and slightly plasticky, indicating that they had been hanging around for some time. My husband had the vegan burger which was actually cold, and severely undercooked. Vegans/vegetarians still like their food cooked, even if it is of plant source. His fries were also cold.

A waitress came to ask how the food was, so we told her. She went to get the manager. We explained to the manager what the problem was. She asked if we wanted anything else, but to be honest the inadequate meals we had had really put us off having anything else from this establishment. She said she would sort out a refund, and said to me to carry on eating. I explained I didn't want to eat any more as the food was cold! She then took both meals away. Whilst we have were waiting we continued to drink our drinks - our evening had already been spoiled, and my husband's birthday meal, a washout.

I did wonder what the 'so say' manager was doing, as I'd paid for the meals by credit card, and she hadn't asked for my card to make the refund.

We decided to give up, leaving most our drink, which we had paid £10 for, and decided to go up to the counter to see what was going on. We actually intercepted her en route. She actually gave us cash and a refund receipt. She may have apologised, but she was very patronising when we commented that this wasn't good enough. I think she may be 'old hat' at giving refunds, and not giving a satisfactory explanation for the sub standard meal.

When we were just about to exit the building, I looked at the refund receipt, and it wasn't even our order!

We took it back up to her, and she asked what our order had been. I reminded her that we had the cold/undercooked burgers. In a huff she gave us the proper receipt, and pushed the money back to us. Still no sincerity, and told us if we didn't like it, to not come back. Needless to say, we won't! Definitely not recommended - spend your hard earned cash...

Starting on a more positive note there is plenty of parking, decent sized room and well located for Bristol City Centre and our planned trip to Noahs Ark Farm and Zoo. That is it for positives though. Very much a motel/car storage for Bristol Airport users. We stayed for 2 nights but had 2 nights of disturbed sleep by the stomping of late to bed and early to rise elephants upstairs. If you value a peaceful nights sleep I would request an upstairs room. The menu in the restaurant is somewhat lacking in comparison to what is advertised online. Only a small selection from the online menu is put on the actual menu served in site which was too restrictive, so we ended up eating out both evenings despite researching before we booked to make sure that at least one evening we could 'eat in' and have a few drinks together. The staff seem to be quite a young team that may be lacking a mature head at the helm? There are internal adjoining doors between rooms which could do with a sign on asking people not to try opening them unless they have booked adjoining rooms in a larger party. Thankfully the door only rattled once in the afternoon but if it had happened at 11pm when some people were arriving from their flights back then it would just add to the night disturbances. Last but not least is the breakfast. It's the most sorry looking and tasting full English I've ever had. It resembled the contents of a tescos all day breakfast sandwich slapped on a plate, warmed through with a thimble full of baked beans to make it their own. Needless to say we didn't go down for day twos breakfast, subway was more filling. Some improvements needed all round. I think it's more a motel rather than a hotel so if you're looking for a few nights stay and making your own holiday up I'd say book a Premier Inn or Travelodge in the city centre. They're easily accessible plus everything you need is in walking distance...... they also understand what the contents of a full English breakfast should look and taste like. This place is worth 2 stars, one for each night we stayed so good job we didn't...
