After three trips here within the past few months, it's sad to see this place go so far downhill. The menu's are incredibly limited and outdated, the food is incredibly bland and low quality from what myself and others I've been with have said, burgers dripping in grease and soaking the buns, and fish batter tasteless and very soggy to name a few things.
The drinks are nice but for a pub opposite a brewery, that's hard to get wrong!
The service wasn't very welcoming at all, the staff made us feel as we were inconveniencing them through the attitude and lack of friendliness (apart from the lady with the lilac purple hair). We had to wait at least 40 minutes for food on a very quiet weekend evening and it was probably about one hour between recieving a desert menu and being asked what we would like. The deserts were bang average at best, lukewarm and seemed shop bought to be honest.
Best take a trip elsewhere, the White Hart seems far better currently. It's a shame what's happening here, wish the owners would...
Read moreGreat pub to watch the football in! ⚽
My wife and I visited this pub today to watch a football match and were very impressed.
✅Atmosphere: The pub has a great classic English atmosphere, with a cozy interior that immediately makes you feel comfortable. The variety of tables makes it an ideal place for both large companies and small groups of friends.
✅Service: The bartenders were very polite and attentive, always ready to help with the selection of drinks and snacks.
✅Drinks and food🍺: The pub offers a wide selection of beers, ciders and other drinks, as well as tasty snacks such as fish and chips, burgers and traditional English pub fare.
✅Purity: The pub was spotlessly clean, both inside and out. There was also a pleasant smell of beer, which added authenticity to the atmosphere.
✅General impression🏆: Overall, we had a great time at this pub and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a place to watch a sports match, enjoy good food and beer in a...
Read moreWe stopped in on the off-chance to see if they had a table for 2 available for Sunday lunch. Luckily they did - I chose chicken & my partner chose the beef (and there was also a vegetarian option). Both meals came relatively quickly and were nicely presented with a dish of vegetables to dip into on the side.
My chicken was served as a breast with a small bone (very easily removed) and the beef was served in slices. Both meals came with roasties, a Yorkshire pud, red cabbage, sliced parsnip "crisps" and a parsnip puree (and gravy of course). I'm not a big fan of parsnip, but I loved both.
We then chose sticky toffee pudding and cheesecake for afters, both with ice cream (but could have had custard or cream instead) snd again both were well presented and delicious.
I'm not sure how much the bill came to as my partner paid for this one. I'd thoroughly recommend - they were busy, so I would probably say either don't leave it too late or book a...
