Popped in today for the Friday special of fish and chips. The pub had a super atmosphere and offered a warm and hearty glow by the real coal fire. The dining room, is comfortable and the food plentiful. Many today were enjoying the Christmas special menu. Really lovely, hot, freshly cooked traditional fayre. A super team, lead by Cathy and John, you're guaranteed great service, a friendly welcome and super home cooked food. A real traditional country pub, right here in Upper Stratton. Conveniently located near to all main commuter routes and serviced by a reliable local bus service. We often pop in for the lunch time specials or lovely traditional Sunday lunches! It was my unfortunate experience to visit the Bakers Arms on dec 8th for an xmas lunch. I have never had such a bad meal in my life . Meal booked for 1pm and all pre ordered served at 1.45 ,no sauce on prawn cocktail ,all roast vegetables so hard could not cut let alone eat, yorkshires black, brussels so over cooked they were white instead of green, UGH. Then asked us to pay for a pudding which we had prepaid for ,this was the straw that broke our back we left after complaining to staff expressing our disgust. What a waste of money this was DO NOT GO HERE . Does not even merit this one...

Wow I can't even start the bakers arms is one of the best pubs in swindon and I am not lying fish and chips and all food is on top and kath and John are both absolute jems and Is the best landlords I know and always it generous and her staff are some next level people especially Tracey ,Michelle , Rose, sharon,Lorraine, maddison but I love all of them truly I can not suggest enough about coming to the bakers when you have the time and such amazing prices and value it all is so please go their if you get...
