Can't fault service. The young servers who took our orders were both friendly and helpful. 3 of the 4 meals were fine however the margarita pizza was awful. The menu states it has mozzarella, sun blushed tomatoes and fresh basil. Well it didn't. There was definitely no basil. The sun blushed tomatoes tasted like cheap tomato topping and I have my doubts about the quality of the mozzarella, if indeed it was mozzarella. However by far the worst part of the pizza was the base. It was very thin and the toughest base I have ever had the misfortune of attempting to eat. I usually enjoy pizza crust but in this case I had to give up trying to chew the first piece..After struggling to saw/hack it off I was genuinely concerned that I was going to crack my teeth trying to chew it. I suspect I would have had more luck chewing a stone. I demonstrated its robustness by banging a piece of crust on the table. My fellow diners were suitably impressed. So robust was it that I am considering contacting Persimmon to see if they want to use it for building materials as on last nights evidence it's sturdy enough to withstand earthquakes and the average British summer. I did mention the quality ..or rather lack of..to the server who took the plate away, he did apologise and I didn't make any further fuss as I had managed to eat the middle of the pizza and the other meals had been fine. As I was still hungry I ordered the double chocolate chip brownie sundae. Another regrettable choice. The menu states caramel sauce, there was no caramel sauce. The sauce was chocolate, the cheap nasty stuff that comes in a squeezy bottle. The menu also stated vanilla cream...I suspect a typo as there was no cream. So possibly meant to say vanilla ice cream? But who knows. The pieces of brownie were dry and rather chewy although not as chewy as that pizza!!!. It was disappointing and I wouldn't recommend it. When I went to pay the bill at the bar I had to wait whilst the server served someone else. I couldn't help but over hear that she was attempting to refund him the cost of a meal.....surprise surprise..it was a margarita pizza!! I would visit again and give it another go as the other meals were fine and the service was great but the only recommendation I can make with regard to the pizza is that the recipe for it needs to be destroyed.

We stopped by for a late lunch mid-afternoon on a Sunday after our usual place was full. Most tables were reserved, but we got one quite easily. The barman who took our order was quite abrupt about the fact they had no chicken left and gave us ice in our drinks without asking. I had only just gotten back to the table when my food was brought out to me, where my partners arrived a few minutes later even though we had ordered together. The young lady that served was polite and friendly, though. The food was only lukewarm and very disappointing. The beef was tough, and the so-called tiny bit of stuffing was tasteless and hard. The roast potatoes weren't homemade they were frozen, flavourless, and rubbery. The carrots and green beans were undercooked and tasted raw. The Yorkshire puddings were a good size, looked homemade but tasted cold. It was as if the whole meal had been reheated in the microwave, and not even that was done properly. At £14.95 this dinner was certainly not worth a penny. With such awesome competition in the area from places like Anson Farm, this place really needs to up their game as it's no wonder that Anson Farm is always packed out and Manor House isn't. They need to pay more attention to detail, like bringing spoons out with their sauce pots, too. Overall, I will never be recommending this place to anyone or ever eating here again, and I suggest you do the same

Looking for somewhere to eat as got lost heading to Yarm. Ages 86, 82, 68 and 40 and came across The Manor House. It has disabled parking near entrance and a couple of shallow steps to entrance. Wheelchair friendly. The pub itself is huge and we're few in it but started to fill up after we ordered. It has a very large and well set out eating/drinking lounge with very comfortable armchairs which are easy for elderly to get out of plus bonkets and traditional chairs. There is a large traditional bar area at the far end. There are toilets in both sections. It is spotlessly clean as are the toilets and the Gents has an unusual tiled entrance. We ordered fish and chips, 2 large burger meals with chips, salad, coleslaw and huge onion rings in batter and a scampi and chips with mushy peas (or curry) and tartar sauce. Neither could finish the burger meals - they were huge. The small size scampi was actually a normal size meal. All of the food was tasty and well presented, it's not cheap but was worth the cost. The barman took our drinks, then food order at the table and was very friendly and polite. It has a Christmas Menu which includes Traditional menu Vegetarian and/or Vegan menu ? Gluten free menu. Children's menu. Would we go back there - ABSOLUTELY.

I have to say I was a little disappointed in the place after deciding to try somewhere different from the norm. We decided to get together and eat here on New Year's day. On arrival 2 of the us were asked if a reservation was made and the name before then being directed to a table for 2 despite the reservation being for 4. We were given a table that was dirty and required cleaning despite the place not looking to be all that busy and plenty of other tables being free. They did however come and give it a quick wipe. Another couple who had also come for a meal were also given a dirty table after we had been in the place for some time. The food was hit and miss. I ordered the Medallions of Bistro Rump only for 2 very thin steaks to arrive and being told the chef didn't cook the medallions so you have steak. It was suppose to come with Confit tomato garlic, garden peas and chunky chips only for it to arrive with cabbage, a cooked tomato and no chips. The chips eventually arrived once requested. Slow Cooked Red Wine Beef was nice but the portion size was way too big. The dumpling was very dry and looked more like a scone but overall it was the better of the meals ordered. The Chargrilled Gammon Steak was very salty and not enjoyable and once again the confit tomato was just a cooked tomato.

Moving on to the desserts. Each of us went for the homemade sweet waffles and the waffle itself was quite nice. Biscoff was a little strange as no biscoff crumb was even shown to the plate never mind on it I would say. The ice cream and white crunchy bits whatever they were meant to be were ok but again not what we ordered. Toasted Marshmallow was a bit of a joke. It came with no chocolate sauce but did come with ice cream despite the menu mentioning nothing about ice cream and as for toasted marshmallows there wasn't any. The marshmallows on top were the kind you get on a cup of hot chocolate, the very small pink and white ones and in no way toasted.

We left very disappointed customers indeed and unlikely to return.

I do understand the place could have been understaffed due to the time of year and people letting them down but the lack of effort put into serving what was ordered was just unacceptable. If they didn't have the things available on the menu then rather than just try to throw something together to make a meal speak to the customer and see if it's what...

Arrived before 5 pm on 1st September. Ordered drinks including a Prosecco. Asked whether small, medium or large wanted - pointless as it comes in a 20 cl bottle. Served by a different waiter in a white wine glass and not a flute. Waiter apologised and gave us the Prosecco for free and replaced it too! Tried to order from the set price menu seen at home on the website and was told that it no longer was on offer and would be removed from the website. Might have chosen a different place if we’d known 🤔 Our order of curry and beef pie eventually arrived - delayed by drink problem and having to choose what to eat. My pie had no beef - it was mushroom!! Waiter checked with kitchen to confirm my vision and tastebuds function correctly. Promised to bring pie in 10 minutes. Luckily my wife is a slow eater and was really enjoying the curry (with the help of all that Prosecco 🤣). Pie arrived with the full meal. I would have been happy with just the pie! My wife loved the broccoli and carrot I added to her meal. They were very well cooked as were the chips. The pie however was not good. The base of the sidewalls could not be cut. Rock hard. The mushroom pie was the same. I complained. My sticky toffee pudding was excellent. My wife enjoyed the 3 scoops of ice cream but pricey at £7.50. The waiter had to go away to find out what flavours were available. My half pint of John Smiths and a a small espresso was dropped from the bill. I did not tip. The 2 waiters were very nice but also obviously inexperienced. At least my wife had a great Anniversary dinner🤗. I sa a sogn near the bar asking for a...
