We ordered Fish Friday and Cheese Pie. We were surprised on the reduction of portion sizes of the peas, beans, chips and the fish. The fish was a pre-formed shape and dry and most certainly unlike a fresh fish you get from the local nearby award winning Chip Shop, the peas/beans portion sizes were no bigger than a dessert spoon size and the cheese pie although just warm was no where near as hot/oozy as it used to be, we then counted the chips on our plates, one meal had 12 chips and the other 15 chips. The Fish Friday Deal used to see this pub heavily utilised by customers with never an empty seat, but it is now noticeable a much reduced ordered meal with lots of empty seats. On speaking with local residents who regularly frequented the pub for meals throughout the week and Friday they make the same comments regarding the reduced portion sizes, warmth of food and inform they now frequent the nearby Chip Shop for their Friday Fish Meal, this pub used to be a community pub you would walk away from feeling you had had a good value meal. It is a shame to see the pub going in this direction with regular customers sourcing alternative venues. There appears to be less staff on duty and the ones that are on duty are rushing around. Some thought, work and effort needs to be put in by Management to rebuild this pub to retrieve it's declining popularity before it is too late and it once again reverts back to a drinking only...

Read moreTHE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED On Tuesday evening I went with a friend to the Millhouse, we hadnât been there for some time so thought we would try it again. We had a meal which was exactly what was expected and then ordered coffee. I wanted an Irish coffee but when it arrived what was served was a coffee, presumably with Irish whiskey, in a wide red cup plus a small jug of single cream. When I said Iâd ordered an Irish coffee and that wasnât Irish coffee the waiter was dismissive and argued thatâs what it was and said there is no definition as to what an Irish coffee is. As it was NOT Irish coffee I asked for a refund or an alternative which he point blank refused, and stood and continued to argue with me as to what was an Irish coffee and that he couldnât waste what had been served. Then 10 minutes later he returned to ask again was I going to accept his coffee, and was again belligerent. We paid out bill and left but obviously did not leave a tip which is my usual practice. I eat out regularly and have never been treated so badly. This manâs customer service...
