Our initial reception was not very welcoming, 5 staff stood in the bar area and no-one smiled or spoke. We'd booked a table for an early meal and after ordering a drink we were told our table was in the dining area on the left . Subsequent service seemed to improve as evening progressed. Tables so disenfected glasses and menus stuck to them, not a bad thing but not comfortable either. Food average.

Couple of years since this experience, changed a bit. Staff welcoming and pleasant, table in the pub area not a problem. Problem was that the table wasn't clean, manager did wipe it after I asked, food awful, couldn't tell where pastry and chicken differed just a hard lump which could have been either ,mash ok,mushy peas oddly seemed to have two varieties one brighter green than the other. Never a good pub but at least it felt...

A local village pub. We went in on a Friday night, and it was busy. We waited about 5 minutes to be served at the bar. On ordering drinks, my daughter (nearly 21) was not asked for ID, but later, a bartender came over and asked her for ID? I understand that it is challenge 25, but please ask for ID at the point of sale as it brings attention to us and especially her in the middle of a very busy pub. I just hope that this wasn't linked to being the only people of colour in here... We have drank and eaten lunch in here before, so we will be back, but it will be something I will be mindful of. A lovely atmosphere and the evening food looked amazing. We are looking forward to eating in here for dinner in the...

The nags head sits itself pretty much at the centre of the nice (quiet, depending what time/day you visit) town of Willaston. The areas is peaceful and relatively calm, and the atmosphere inside the pub itself is also relaxing. My wife and I messed up our timing on something so we decided to stop by for some dinner before our event. We were well satisfied with the cheesy garlic bread, the flavours of the bread mixed with the drizzle of balsamic was wonderful and complimented each other very well. I was in the mood for a burger, I dont usually eat the salad, but I did for once and liked the coleslaw too. The service was very pleasant and polite, they were always smiling, the place had a very...

Came to this pub as a friend suggested it for me to try. The place is very cozy, friendly and welcoming. The food that we had was fresh and delicious, and didn't take long to wait. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, made me feel as a visitor from the far east, felt very welcomed. And since the location is very close to the "Wirral Circular Trail", give it a go when you are in Willaston for a break

We were on a walk down the Wirral way from Hooton station and this is a really nice handy place to stop for lunch as it is on a crossroads and there are numerous walks in different directions that can be done from here. They have a great menu and I tried out the pulled lamb baguette. It was a great tasty meal at a reasonable price. They also have a good range of beers. Service was excellent and efficient.

Food was very good, tasty, though slightly overpriced for the standard in comparison with equivalent establishments. However we thoroughly enjoyed it. On slight negative is the location of the ashtray on the wall at the back entrance. This means non smokers have to walk through smoke to enter. This is by no means a problem at just the Nags Head, but I found it particularly bad tonight.
