The New Inn, Fownhope — Restaurant in England

Wow—what an incredible Sunday lunch experience at The New Inn Fownhope. The roast beef was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and packed with flavour. It came with all the traditional trimmings and was smothered in the most delicious, thick, rich gravy. Every bite was pure comfort and quality.

The homemade apple crumble for dessert was the perfect finish—warm, fruity, and beautifully balanced. You can really tell it was made with love.

What made the experience even more special was the staff—so genuinely friendly, attentive, and welcoming. They made me feel like a regular even though it was my first visit.

Service started off good, accommodating and good with our dog, the lady at the bar was fantastic. after finding plastic wrap in my food twice while eating, I tried telling them quietly as I understand things happen, the waitress then brought over the owner who said there's been no chef for the past few weeks, so she was cooking. then i was told there was not much she could do about it except to say sorry and it must just be from wrapping the portions, to add to the uncaring response, I was told I ate most of it anyways and was essentially made to feel like I should just deal with it. was then offered a free dessert, which if you've found plastic in food, not really too keen on eating anymore from there lol. lesson...

I visited this pub yesterday and I’ve only got good things to say about this place. I was in a party of around 15 young people who had just been on a long walk, and when we arrived the staff didn’t hesitate to welcome us and get us all a drink. Service was kind and there was a cute dog walking around! To make things even better when it started to get dark a member of staff offered to drive us back to our parked cars as we’d walked 40mins away to get to the pub.
