The New Inn Cantonese — Restaurant in England

We decided prior to our visit to York that we would try this restaurant as a take away when staying in nearby Tollerton, we had a banquet for 2, I decided to have a pint whilst we waited outside one of the staff brought out some commentary prawn crackers which were huge and delicious, our food was ready in no time at all and we made our way back to our caravan 4 miles away to tuck in, everything in the banquet was just fantastic the flavours were just something else compared to your average Chinese take away (although this is Cantonese and I'm not too sure of the difference) it was just a huge taste enhancement to what we were used too and there was plenty of food allowing me to nibble through the rest of the evening, if you are in the area I would highly recommend a visit. Don't be put off by the slightly higher prices that you may be used to as the food makes up...

Would NOT recommend for coeliacs / gluten free, or any other allergies.

I called to enquire as they mention gluten free on their website, and confirmed they could cater for coeliac/gluten free. On arrival the waitress (owner?) Mandy clearly didn't understand some things about gluten free and allergies, for example continually insisting soy sauce was "fine as it was only a small amount" and I had to decide "how much pain was worth it for eating out". Also bizarrely insisted she could only make 1 meal gluten free so husband and I were not allowed to share.

As a coeliac I am used to needing to discuss for options, but she kept talking over me and just wouldn't listen. In the end I felt uncomfortable and...

We have just had our first visit to this wonderful establishment... It certainly won't be the last time we visit either!

They s place is a hidden Gem! The staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble, the food was the best Chinese we've had for a very long time - so many are just 'nice' or 'enjoyable'... The food we had this evening was next level from the run of the mill Chinese generally found. All the food was fresh, well presented and very very tasty.

We can highly recommend the Singapore Noodles, Crispy Aromatic Duck and the Crispy Beef - all were delicious! We would have no hesitation in recommending this establishment and the team working here to anyone who's looking for a...
