I was staying in the hotel and decided to eat at the Oak Room at least one night during my stay. Not disappointed! Although this hotel and restaurant (and the attached spa for that matter) are *not* for someone who's protective over their wallet (at least by my council estate kid standards lol!), the atmosphere is absolutely amazing. The staff were kind and amazingly helpful. They couldve been slightly more attentive, but I was the only solo customer in a restaurant packed with full tables on a Saturday night, so I don't fault them for this. I had the mackerel starter, which was lovely, plated very neatly and was about the best fish I've ever had. Then the sirloin steak. My preference is rare. Everything was excellently cooked and presented. The steak was perfect, juicy and succulent, some of the best I've ever had. The food also all came out very orderly, I wasn't waiting very long at all, even considering that I imagine this is one of the restaurants busier times. I finished with a latte, caramelised biscuit cheesecake and whipped chocolate ganache (I have quite the sweet tooth). Once again, very orderly, wasn't waiting long at all. Beautifully presented and tasted excellent. Really no complaints about quality. I will say, for coeliac and gluten free folks; I myself am not one of you, but the fellow next to me was, and it seemed he was having some trouble finding things that were gluten free on the menu, especially the dessert menu. Just keep this in mind. Bear in mind for yourselves that this is very much fine dining. While the portions are nothing to scoff at, they're obviously not huge, and it's a big price tag to pay. Having said that, looking to impress a date or host a special occasion around this area? I'd suggest this place for sure. The staff were incredibly capable for a busy Saturday night, and the atmosphere was very calm and sophisticated. Very good for what it is! For complete transparency's sake, I paid £83.70-- £10 gratuity I added myself, and £12 for drinks, so without that it would be £61.70. Pricy, but not all too bad for the fine dining experience they're offering. It's also worth mentioning some of the things I ordered were the pricier options of their menu!

Dined here whilst staying at the hotel and the staff are clearly minimum wage and minimum effort. For the price I would reccomend training the staff how to talk to customers and be courteous.

Do NOT choose the mushroom gnocchi… the biggest waste of £17!!

Waited over an hour for a stater sized main portion to arrive. It was lukewarm at best, had 12 !! Yes I could count them bean sized gnocchi and a small collection of mushrooms.

A completely disappointing meal, when I raised the issue of the temperature of the food I was given a response that people do find the portions quite small. So obviously have had similar queries.

I had to raid the car afterwards for my son’s snacks as was...

I’m truly delighted with our selection for Mother’s Day Sunday Lunch! The food was fantastic in flavor, generous in portion, and offered great value, while the service was exceptional!

It seems this was their debut Sunday Lunch event, and they have plans to host it every week. If today’s experience is any indication, they’re sure to become a favorite destination for...
