Came here today for a family meal haven't been for about 6-7 years and the place hasn't just gone downhill, it's gone over the cliff. The starter was ridiculously salty (potato skins) and the carvery was awful the meat was okay but the veg overcoooked and the mash was 'slimy'. Some of our party had the beef which they described as off though when mentioned to staff they were uncaring and had to complain several times before they eventually agreed to refund half the bill. The service was appaling staff were uncaring and at first only agreed to refund the person in the group who complained on befal of us all as if we would all individually have to complain separately (there were 8 adults) when I went to bar the staff to recieve the refund it was obvious that they had been discussing our party's complaint and were giving pointed looks and smirking as if they'd taken out complaint as a personal insult. A family of nine of us arrived Christmas day for lunch the party included my Son In Law who had only been discharged from hospital three day previously after having major surgery for cancer we did attempt to cancel 6 weeks before when he was diagnosed with this awful disease and it was refused we arrived on time the starter was awful the main meal dreadful and we sat 45 minutes waiting for dessert before we had to ask for it be boxed up to take home because the Gentleman who was ill needed to go home.We booked in 2021 no problems but it will be our last booking The Family booking was arranged because it was a chance to celebrate Christmas lunch as a family I am 82 years of age the whole experience was a disaster and it is our last visit unfortunately we attended regularly for Sunday lunch it as affected that also Customer Service on reception was disgusting when we tried explain the reason to cancel awful experience from...

Our order was wrong even though we went through the list and asked the barmaid to read out what she had put in to double check it and we were supposed to have a spaghetti bolognese brought out for my daughter and they brought lasagne instead so everyone else on our table got their food and she had to wait for hers. Our food was lovely but the portions could of had a bit extra, on mine I was supposed to have 'herby' mash.. there were no herbs in sight.

When my mother came previously she was told by staff if children want to play in the "SMALL" play area then she would have to sit near the area and keep an eye on them. When we came this time there was loads of children in the play area and not one parent to be seen... hmm... The fire alarms kept going off all the time aswell just to be told "they're faulty".. I suggest you get that sorted ASAP before a real fire happens and noone...
