Went with a Groupon voucher for afternoon tea. Food was nice (chips were amazing) but place was a bit grubby with dirty windowsills and crisp crumbs still on the chairs (presume from the Friday night before) the toilets themselves were clean but toilet paper, tissues and rubbish on the floor in the stall and by the sinks. The milk jug for the tea was dirty and replaced with another dirty one... bit disappointing

Lovely afternoon tea to start the celebrations for my 60th Birthday. Staff were all very friendly and very attentive. Hope to go back for Sunday lunch soon. Thank you. Xx

Nice tea rooms with simple homemade cakes in a balanced afternoon tea that wasn't too sweet. (Vegetarian friendly as well) Worth a visit

What a wonderful evening!!! Blown away with just how friendly and welcoming an evening we had. The setting is beautiful....what a 'local' to have on your doorstep if you're a Stainton resident. Lovely interior and exterior only outshone by the welcome we received by both staff and customers. I have to say, it was really refreshing to visit somewhere new and made to feel like a friend. The atmosphere was lively and fun, a karaoke night filled with people of all ages and abilities, all of whom received due credit for their efforts, ably delivered the landlady Paula and her assistant Rob. Definitely a place to visit and highly recommended, a restaurant on site which on this occasion, we did not use. A little gem !! Well done to the owners and staff and customers for creating such a lovely...

Dreadful, after a little wait we were show to a table I asked if we could sit near the fireplace and was told that even though the table wasn't reserved she prefers me and my wife to sit were we had been shown, after agreeing to sit where we had been told we decided to choose our meals, bearing in mine it was around 6pm we gave our two orders to the same young waitress only to be told that both dishes were out of stock because everyone wanted that dish that day, I'm sorry but 2 out 6 special meals out of stock that early in the evening is just poor in my opinion.... Shame really because we were looking forward to trying somewhere different.....the upshot of this night is we travelled over to kirklevington and ate at the crown instead.....what a...

Very nice afternoon tea with warm savouries . Sandwich fillings a bit limited but tasty and freshly made. Pleasant and helpful serving staff and the scones and cakes were scrummy too and we were able to bring home what we couldn't eat! (One thing that really needs improvement at this venue is the loos. If we had seen them before we sat down to eat we may not have been so keen to stay- sorry. Broken door locks wobbly taps and an ineffective hand drier and general state of decor and cleanliness left us with a poor impression I'm afraid .As I know you are closing for some refurbishment next month I hope that this area is a priority as it's a shame that our final memory of our visit was not the delicious tea but the state of...
