Having driven by a few times in the past and saying "we should try there, it looks good", we finally stopped in today for a midday meal. The car parking is plentiful with loads of room. The Inn is placed on the Airfield boundary so it's great to sit and watch the planes flying in and out.
The staff were very pleasant and polite. We ordered our food from the bar, however the tables have buttons on which alerts staff to you wanting service - a great idea, although we didn't need it once because the staff were doing a great job at checking up on us. We were offered a tab for the table without having to ask for it, which is something I particularly like from eateries. The food came out in a short amount of time and was great; in fact the ribs I had were some of the best I've eaten anywhere! Before ordering our desserts, we asked if we could be moved outside because the sun had come out. The staff were more than happy to move us without any hesitation.
Overall great service and exceptional food. A place we will visit again the next time we...
Read moreA Must-Visit Gem Near Bembridge Airport! The Propeller Inn in Bembridge offers a truly unique and delightful experience that I can't recommend enough! Its location is fantastic, especially for aviation enthusiasts like myself. We loved watching planes fly into Bembridge Airport before our visit – it really sets the scene. The inn itself has been beautifully and recently renovated, and it looks absolutely amazing inside. The service we received was excellent, and the food was incredibly delicious, with a great selection on both the main menu and the specials board. The bar and drinks area also boasts an impressive array of choices. One standout feature has to be the quirky toilets, adorned with funny poems and drawings – a truly humorous take on "toilet art" that adds to the inn's charm. We were so thankful that they managed to squeeze us in without a reservation, showcasing their kind help and generosity. My advice? Definitely phone ahead and make a reservation to ensure you don't miss out on this...
Read moreBeware the apple crumble and desert bowl maybe scorching hot.Tonight my wife was served apple crumble that was much too hot to eat, luckily she didn't scold her mouth, tongue or throat, we informed the waitress that the desert was too hot to eat, we didn’t want to take it home as my wife had added the hot custard and been stirring it over and over for many minutes to try and cool it, so not at all appetising now. On paying the bill I thought we may get an apology, no we got charged! but the chef/owner after moaning at US for HIS inedible desert saw reason and took the dessert of the bill. Restaurants are meant to provide satisfactory meals fit for consumption, a customer is within their rights to refuse a meal that is too hot to eat. I hope the chief revues his method of reheating and makes sure that his food is not so scorching as to do any damage as somebody else may not be so observant as my wife, especially...
