We went tonight as a mixed aged group of 7, including neurodovergent and disabled party members. The atmosphere was great, warm, welcoming and professional, despite being full. The ambience was lively yet relaxed, and we all felt extremely comfortable. We had carnivores and vegetarian, and ordered the vegetarian wellington, pizzas, gammon, and a chicken korma, as well as sides and a range of puddings - the cobbler and brownies. The food was great - very nicely presented and seasoned, cooked to each person’s liking, timed perfectly, and full of flavour. It was great that every member of our group had a two course meal that was really enjoyed. We had nice wine and a great range of shots - including the celebrated brain haemorrhage..eek! The berry cobbler was seriously delicious, tart and fruity - perfection! Service from Rian and Molly was really excellent, as was the puddings by Joseph in the kitchen, and all the food by Chef George. The music, lighting, and setting was all perfect. The staff were so good, it was a great find and we’ll definitely be back any time we’re in the area....
Read moreAn Unforgettable Meal at The Red Lion I had the pleasure of dining at The Red Lion this evening, and it was truly one of the best meals I've had in a long time. To start, I chose the salt & pepper squid, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The main course was the special: a steak with a delicious stilton sauce. It was cooked to absolute perfection and beautifully presented, making for a truly memorable dining experience. The quality of the food was only matched by the fantastic service. The staff were incredibly friendly and professional, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. Their attention to detail and genuine hospitality really enhanced the evening. I highly recommend The Red Lion to anyone looking for top-tier food and wonderful service. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!
And to top it off. If I still had my girl Lexi, she'd have loved the doggy menu. This is a touch I've never...
Read moreThis is a lovely pub and the staff are very friendly, when we arrived it was very busy. We were a party of 3 and ordered food. Unfortunately the quality of our meal was very disappointing. I ordered steak&ale pie with chips. The pie was over salty with hardly any steak and the chips were orange and had a cracker consistency as they had been deep fried many times. The roast which my friend ordered came with frozen potatoes and the vegetables were not fresh. Overall I was very disappointed and if foresight was an option, I would never attend this place for food. I appreciate everyone has different standards, and don’t mind package frozen food, that being said I think the quality of food would have been better from Icelands! If I could give a zero star review I would as I do not think they even...
