Young waitress on the door was extremely inattentive , not very pleasant, after we had ordered ten carveries the ticket was placed on the table with no comment when we could go up for food. We waited awhile after we asked if we could go up, we waited at the carvery to be served quite a while then we had to ask the young waitress again if someone would serve us. We paid for eight adult meals even though four of the party are all under sixteen, in my opinion they are still children and cannot eat a full size adult meal. At the time of ordering we had ordered one course , after eating some of the children wanted a dessert and again I had to approach the waitress because she didn't come over to us (the place was not busy at all) and I asked if we could order desserts and was told because we had not ordered them in the beginning we would have to pay full price for the desserts and not the price the desserts would have been had we ordered them when we ordered the first course. As if I wasn't angry enough on the way out I saw a sign advertising "Kids eat Free", our children do not go back to school until tomorrow and Thursday so the waitress should have told us about the offer so we could take advantage. If this offer was on for local children only and they are back at school then the notice should have been taken down. There was no hand soap in the...

Wasn't aware until we drove past a couple of weeks ago that the establishment had been referred and rebranded. By sheer coincidence one of our best friends had booked us and 6 others for his retirement/60th Birthday celebration meal for tonight and how fortunate we were. From the minute we walked into the very attractive restaurant and greeted by the very pleasant staff to the moment we left, it was an excellent experience. Although the carver was available there was also nice selection of other meals on the extensive menu. As a person who loves a good carvery i can honestly say this is one of the best i have ever experienced. Four wonderful meats all cooked perfectly and so tender, the bonus of a delicious Ham, Turkey and Mushroom pie. Massive home cooked Yorkshire`s, Fresh roasted potatoes and an array of quality fresh veg topped with a tasty gravy...First class....Other members of our party tried the home made pIes, Lamb Shank and Sirloin Steak and each was top draw and well cooked. Waitress service was prompt and friendly and the selection of desserts which were Excellent value of money and beautifully presented. Our first visit but i can guarantee not our last and i feel as long as they sustain this level of quality and value for money we will be...

Food was absolutely beautiful! We had the carvery. Price is brilliant too for what you get. We went on Friday lunchtime. The service was 50/50 as the one girl was brilliant and the other let the side down. The first girl made us feel quite unwelcome (deep frustrated sigh when we said we hadn't booked then didn't make it clear who she was sitting down where and then didn't take any drinks orders and just walked off with no explanation), but I shook it off as we were hungry and the food ended up being great.

They had a big table so I noticed other diners waiting a long time to eat, but they were warned about the wait. Glad we had the carvery as it was super quick. As I said, the other girl was brilliant and we were glad she ended up serving us anyway.

First time there, and it's definitely awkward if you've not been there before as there are no explanations or instructions for getting the carvery, or even how to get the bill! So be prepared to ask about everything 😂.

We would definitely go again as the food was really yummy. Hopefully, next time we get a better welcome but, for the price, it's definitely worth it...

The riding stables had requested in advance that our riding group be provided with string loops on the fence to tie our horses to so we could enjoy a relaxing lunch, and were assured they would be provided. The next day the stables asked for confirmation and were assured that the string loops would be awaiting us. On the day there were two loops for nine horses, so we couldn't sit and eat our food but had to stand and hold our horses while taking it in turns to collect our meals from the table by the door where they had been left, and eat them either standing up or sitting on the grass. The food was excellent, and deserves five stars. The broken promise didn't impress us though - if we'd known the twine wouldn't be provided we could have brought our own, and the pub would have earned five stars all round. What could have been a lovely lunch was rather spoiled by not being able to sit at a table and relax.

My self and my adult children had a great time today. We loved how many deals there were. In entering the pub a lovely lady greeted us .I have to say the food was absolutely lovely. I had a roast and I ate every last bit. I can't fault the roast dinner in anyway My children had fish n chips and they loved their meal. I tried the chips they were lovely fluffy home made . The service was fast and the staff truly lovely and funny too. I love my roasts and I give it a 10 out of 10 for taste and guess what mash potatoes lovers. There mash is creamy.. delicious! And the roasts and Yorkshire puddings were were crunchy and fluffy. The price came to 50 pounds for three people. Three dinners. Deserts and whine. I loved it. One happy customer who will definitely go again with her family. Well done to the staff!!

Stopped here after a long ride just as the kitchen was closing, but they stayed open a bit longer to get us fed before we started our journey back! The food was just right, and the chips were the best I've had in a long time! Thanks to Kez for cooking for us while you cooked your own dinner, and for the others for making us feel really welcome👌
