Popped into The Squirrel pub in Alveley for a “quick pint” on the way home from a day out. What a pleasant surprise! This traditional, country pub has a welcoming open fire which not only adds to the charm of the place but compliments the welcome by the licensee Alan. Even though it was the first time my mate and I had visited the pub Alan and the “locals” made us feel instantly at home. The selection of cobs on offer were too great to resist and at £2.00 I don’t think I have seen better value anywhere! There is also a good menu if you wanted something more substantial. As an aside this place has a cracking room at the rear which houses a pool table and skittles, ideal for a group night out. It means driving to get to this pub but now that I have discovered its hidden charms I shall be visiting again very soon!

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat and drink after being diverted away from the M6 by our sat nav. We were made to feel extremely welcome by the landlord and chirpy regulars of the pub. They fired up their bbq as and when orders came in for a burger or hotdog. Very easy going and welcoming. Glad we stopped in - just need to work out how to find it again without the sat nav's offer to divert!

The pub is a lovely building. Very cool inside on a hot day. It also has a car park and beer garden with a children's play area so family friendly.

We had a great night recently playing skittles real good fun. We had attended as part of a group from a local car club. The food was a very generous helping for the price. The one draw back for me was the food came on cold plates, which unfortunately cools the food too quickly and leads to being served tepid food. Get the plate temperature correct and I would...
