We live locally, so we decided to pop in for a quick lunch. Firstly, at the current time there isn't a lunch menu so there was no light option except soup. I'm convinced it was a tin of soup and the bread, well what can I say? Firstly, look at the picture I've attached. It's hardly an organic rustic bloomer. My advice is to save yourself £6, pop to ASDA, buy a tin of ASDA's own soup and a loaf of smart price white bread and you'll re-create this cordon-bleu experience at a fraction of the price. We won't be back!

The Ship is a lovely and wonderful little pub in the heart of Roose. From the service and atmosphere to the food itself — this was an outstanding visit (which we repeated several times while in Roose). Their halloumi fries and chicken burger were incredibly notable!

Fabulous time at the Ship for New Year's. Had a lovely time with friends and family. Drinks were a good price, great atmosphere and great service. Would recommend and definitely will call again. (Rooms rating blank as did not stay here).

Okay so.... we got there and where greated by a waitress that was so polite, well mannered and such a good crack that we having had in most places where we can have a bit if a laugh with the staff.

We ordered a black coffee and 2 pints Carling for me ;) mean while our drinks are being prepared we decided our meals relatively quickly and where ready to order on the waitresses return.

I had the 14oz rump stake(mw), mother hard the mixed meat stir fry and my father had the glamorgan sausage.

Meals arrived quickly with the lovely waitress asked sauces, drink refills etc. Once we got stuck in it was fantastic !!

I'd highly recommend this place we are definitely going to be going back there without any hesitation!

Overall lovely staff, great...

Got a recommendation from a friend -it is very local but a while since we've been. The staff are very friendly and polite and the service quick and efficient. They have a set menu for Sunday roasts or you can order from the normal menu, but we were really looking for a good Sunday roast so ordered from the set menu. We both had roast beef - lovely thick slices served with large yorkshire pudding, mash, roast potatoes, cabbage, carrot & swede mash and cauliflower cheese, covered in very tasty gravy. I don't think we'd have got through 3 courses (for 13 pounds) as we so full. Could not fault the food or service at all - pub itself was a bit cold, but we were there soon after opening and the heatinghad just been turned on. Would...
