A Great Find!!! We were introduced to this local pub by friends. Everything we had was very good. The Chef changes the menu based on what is fresh and in season. The pints are fresh (expected) and the service was friendly. Fish and Chip are expected in any self-respecting pub. However, their Fish and Chips were superb; lightly battered and piping hot top cut of Atlantic Cod. I would have taken a pick if I knew it was that good. Unfortunately, I couldn't stop eating it soon enough to take a picture. Deserts were very good as well. Definitely a place repeat.

We enjoyed going to this lovely pub while staying in Colerne. They had a lovely selection of good quality wines which the staff were knowledgeable about. We had mixed weather so experienced both inside and outside in the large beer garden. They were very welcoming to our dog which made it an enjoyable experience for us. Thank you and hope we can visit again sometime!

Lovely pub in a beautiful setting. Good food and super friendly, efficient staff. The only thing for us was that we ordered Sunday roasts, but the gravy was way too herby... didn't expect that with an otherwise traditional food, especially as it didn't say on the menu that it comes with thyme gravy...

Had an awesome Sunday lunch here with my family, the roast lunch was fantastic and I’m pretty fussy when it comes to a good roast! The meat was cooked perfectly (I had the triple or whatever it was called so, all the various meats) and the roasties/veg/gravy were all equally as beautifully cooked and very tasty. Only comment would be that the Yorkshire’s weren’t epic but they were still good. My wife’s burger looked amazing and all our deserts were first rate. That in conjunction with nice wine (at the correct temperature) and friendly, attentive staff, will ensure we will go back again. Thank you for a lovely afternoon...

This pub was always"the nice pub" in Colerne whilst the Fox and Hounds was cheap but a bit rough. However haven't been here for a couple of years. Went to meet a friend and we are both ale drinkers. We had to return the first two points of Butcombe as they smelt of vinegar and we cloudy and didn't taste any better. Unfortunately we then tried the Timothy Taylor and it was no better. We left our drinks one third drunk and left....
