Had brisket with mash and butter nut squash,for evening meal.We felt that plate needed a green vegetable rather than the squash..Also brisket needs cooking for along time and it should just fall apart..ours didn't.. whilst dish was tasty we both felt it wasn't exactly setting the world on fire...We also thought it was overpriced at £18-50 per head.The Camden light ale was nice but at £7.50 for a pint it was expensive....We then went to the bar I had another pint this time I was charged £7 and my wife had a half at £3.60.. Golden rule go to the bar first....All what they say are large plates are expensive cheapest is £16.50 Wild mushroom Gnocchi or a vegetable curry, burgers are all £17 each,most expensive was sirloin steak at £28..They do small plates running from £5.50 to £12..or various salads from £13.50 or pizza at £13.95 for a basic one to which you can add toppings..sides are all £5.50...You could go to the service station across the other side of the M4 and get a pasty or a Burger king..for a lot cheaper and go and get beer from M&S... Out of choice would I spend out for this ,no not really..They put these hotels away from everything for a reason..You are around 4.5 miles to Newbury, and the parking down...
