Very disappointed. Staff were lazy and not helpful and seemed to swan about as if they are better than everyone in there. From arriving it took 15 minutes to get our drinks then I had to tell both waiters who were working that we were ready to order our food after sitting waiting for 35 minutes. When I did tell 1 of that waiters he looked at a me in utter disgust and gave me attitude. From then it took a further 45 minutes for food to arrive. Every time waiter passed table he stared at us. Having finished main we ordered few slices of cake to take away which took 20 minutes to arrive, then a further 10 minutes to pay bill. Food was average at best and the service was absolutely dreadful. Will definitely not be going back and would definitely...

I just had possibly THE BEST meal of my entire life! I ordered the surf ‘n’ turf at The Stables, Wynyard, for the first time. It was simply BEAUTIFUL - 10/10 or 100/100 - the steak was cooked to perfection, and did not just melt in the mouth but also on my fork as I cut into it! The chunky chips were perfect - nicely well done and ‘fluffy’ inside - and assisted me well in mopping up the juices from the steak and oil from the tasty salad. Washed down with a large glass of red wine, I almost asked for bread so I could completely clean my plate. Congratulations Chef!

The food, drink, service and atmosphere have always been spot on at The Stables. Fan of cheesecake? Try their freshly...

We were booked for 5.45 and arrived 10 minutes before drinks served quickly but had to catch the eye of waitress to order food I appreciate it is cooked fresh but it was nearly an hour before we got food My grandson caiden had fillet at £35 I thought it was pricey he said he enjoyed it our meals were all reasonably priced my daughter had special pizza again lovely Graham had scampi which he liked I had parmo which I enjoyed but the triple cooked chips are to big so were dry the cheese cakes are delicious it's obviously a popular place as all tables were all full it's the only place to eat in Wanyard so no competition but I...

Very enjoyable evening. Twelve of us went to celebrate my 70th birthday, we booked in advance and they couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. They seated us all on one table and the service was speedy and excellent, and the food as ever was very good. I can't understand the few people who say this place is expensive, for the quality of food and the ambience it's very reasonable indeed. They even let my daughter bring her own home made birthday cake(s) and provided a knife to cut it with when they could have insisted we order their own desserts. Thank you to all the staff for making it such a good night.

You would be hard pressed to find a more comfortable, affordable or better value establishment for miles around. An extensive menu and I am confident that you will find a dish to please no matter how fussy or selective you are. On my visit I had the hanging chicken kebab as my main course - superb. The cheesecakes are famous so leave room and blow the diet got at least one evening.... great bistro with a traditional bar adjoining. Should you wish food is served in this area. If you are lucky the odd north-east footballer might drop by.

Called in on the off chance for Sunday lunch. The food was superb. We both had beef and it almost melted in the mouth. To follow we both had sticky toffee pudding which was the best I've ever had. Four stars for service as I feel they could have been more attentive. Having said that they were busy Atmosphere only three as I found it really noisy. On a weekday it may be better. Having said that over all it's a great place to eat and I will return.
