Reasonable food and good portion sizes but let down on the service. We were shown to our table and just left with no menu or anything, we were the only people in the restaurant at that time with several locals drinking at the bar. (This pub is definitely catered for the locals.) After 10 or so minutes I went to the bar myself and ordered drinks and collected a menu. No problem but it was all a little bit odd to be honest. We have no plans on visiting the area anytime soon but would return if we wanted a cheap eat.

Food tasted good but the atmosphere was non-existent. It's a shame as it looks nice from the outside. Unlikely to go back. They have a doggy station outside so I'm assuming dogs are allowed inside but we never went in just sat outside as the weather was nice.

Great little pub with 2 children’s play areas that caters for all ages. Large carpark and a central location. Lots of seating indoors and outside. Good selection of drinks available. Good stop to break the journey. Last time I visited this place was 2002!

I've eaten there twice and won't be bothering anymore. There is no food on a Sunday, just karaoke. Youngsters drinking big pitchers of cocktails and getting out of control. Found the younger bar staff to be rude. The coffee is either NescafƩ out of the jar or filter things on top of your cup and by the time it's passed through the coffee is cold. Had peas, corn and a plastic bottle cap under the table that had to be taken away from the dog accompanying us, watch your toddler as it could end up in there mouth. There is a pool table but so close to the wall you can't play a decent game. Overall the place is just...

We called in here for lunch on Sunday 22nd September as it was on the way home from visiting family. I have to say we were not impressed at all. The service was very slow and it wasn't as if they were that busy (well in my mind they weren't busy). The food, I thought could have been better, the cabbage look old and grey and not fresh and green it also didn't taste like cabbage, the roast potatoes also seemed old as if they had been rewarmed the rest of the vegetable were not that tasty either. We were very disappointed and will not be...

Myself, my wife and daughter visted the Swingletree during the Eat out to help out period. We would have visited had it not been on but was pleasantly surprised by the bill which would have been reasonable without the offer. My wife had half a roast chicken, daughter a burger and surf & turf myself. The food was great and the service, though a very busy time for them, was great too.

I highly recommend a visit to the Swingletree as it's a nice little pub with quality pub food and very nice staff who stay nice even during hard...
