Less than average steak, could have been better service. Ordered a couple of the Tamar burgers and a steak (didn't know what cut it was). Steak was cooked perfectly medium rare but was quite tough, onion rings seemed very greasy, frozen chips (why?!), garlic butter and side salad was good tho! Burger was apparently quite tasty, paid an extra £1.50 for some blue cheese but was a disappointly large amount of rind in there! Having just received my steak I was asked if we wanted anything else, I asked for a beer and was told to order at the bar. As a result I bad to go to the bar, wait a few mins to get seen, have pint poured... Most pubs would usually consider the fact you've just had your dinner served up and would allow you to settle at the bar.

Having booked on line ,they did not have the booking on there sheet ,we showed them the confirmed booking on the phone .the young lady was quite rude about it and then showed us to a table in a corner .the food was cooked well but not that's hot but quite tasty .pudding was very nice .the young staff that served us was nice and polite but need more experience of customers skill .having worked in the trade for over 40 years and work at high end cafe royal London and other 5 star establishment .and have work doing development work for pub chains and restaurants.i still think this place could be better with customers skill being trained .the place is still worth a visit for food and drink and the area it's in the Tamar valley.and the viaduct..

What a beautiful pub!! Was staying in the area and visited this establishment a couple of times. The first was bank holiday weekend and it was a gorgeous day and the pub was extremely busy. Managed to sit outside in the sunshine and the view is terrific! The staff there were also fabulous! Revisited midweek when the weather was not so good and it was very quiet. Sat inside and had a lovely meal. Again the staff were wonderful and the beer was very good too!! Will definitely be visiting again if I am in the area.

Terrible experience, arrived following a 6 mile 2 hour paddle board at 2:30pm on a Friday. Outside the signs said lunch/food from 12-5. We found a busy pub with outdoor tables full except for two reserved tables with more than an hour before reservation, we weren't allowed to sit there even for quick burger and chips. Loads of room inside though, after ten mins a table became free, we sat down and were given menus, drinks order taken, drinks delivered and two minutes later we went to order food only to be told the kitchen was now closed. Behind the waiter a table was being served fish and chips. Appreciate that times are hard with covid so fair enough. I asked the waiter if there was any where else we could go for food locally as we had a long paddle back to be told no, they did not know of anywhere. A quick walk to the back of the pub there was a delightful cafe who made is welcome and served delicious and needed food, great coffee and amazing home made cakes. I'd advise going there for food first before your pint, it was cheaper but more...

Booked a table for 8pm this afternoon. Arrived. Ordered drinks but they didn’t have any whisky and we were told 2 items were off the menu. Alarm bells should have been ringing at this point.

When we sat down to eat, more items were off the menu of what was already a small Menu to start with so there wasn’t much choice.

Food came. I had the burger. Had a very strange taste. Took a couple of bites and left it. Asked for some vinegar for my chips and they didn’t have any. So I just sat and ate my dry chips.

Told the waitress at the end my burger doesn’t taste right. She didn’t seem to care. No apology. said she would tell the kitchen. 2 mins later I get presented with the bill No explanation on the burger. Paid the full bill and left. Probably just a one off as they have a lot of good reviews but it’s a definite no for me.

Probably best not to book a table at 8pm. We were just an after thought and didn’t feel welcome. I know it’s only pub food but it wasn’t cheap and I expected more for what we paid and service with a smile...
