A truly lovely traditional countryside pub in Zenna Cornwall right next to the church and on the doorstep of the coastal path which is a 6 mile walk to St Ives. We went on a December Tuesday afternoon. We ordered the Tinners Ale, a roast beef and horse radish sauce sandwich with a side of chips for the 2 of us. Absolutely heavenly, and perfect after a long walk. There was a short quiz for us to do left on the table with answers behind the bar so no having to leave not knowing what you got right. A lot of nice detail in this pub for example serving the horse radish separately and with a nice side salad too. Sandwiches packed full of tender beef. The chips came in a bowl that easily served 2 of us. Great big chunky ones with side bowls of mayonnaise and tomato sauce, but for good measure extra also on the table. The beer was superb. A nice Amber ale, well kept. Attentive staff and fabulous Christmas decorations giving a really cosy and homely feel. Lots if space for sitting outside and is sheltered. Loads of parking just down the road which costs a £1 all day. This is a pub that could manage customers with some mobility needs although I didn't see a disabled toilet. If you are not an ale drinker no worries a wide range of alternatives including coffees, artisan bottled beers, lagers and a good selection if soft drinks and wines. Highly recommend and I think you can take children, thinking of those...

We paid a visit here to have a meal while on a week’s holiday nearby. We managed to get a table in the restaurant without reserving although it was quite busy I would probably recommend reserving a table in advance to avoid disappointment. We initially ordered drinks and there appeared to be a wide range of local beers & soft drinks, so a welcome change from carling & J2O. Service was quick and the menu kept it simple with a selection from 6 or 7 starters & 6 or 7 mains looking like they made the most of local produce including fish, beef & chicken. My partner had the soup to start followed by the bean chilli both of which she liked and I had the squid rings which were lovely and the chicken stew. We shared a local ice cream for dessert There was a slight mistake with the order when I think there was confusion over when I asked about the specials and they served me with mussels but this was swiftly dealt with. Overall, good service, good food and drink and a wonderful setting. Our meal cost just shy of £50 for two drinks starters & main with a shared dessert. I would recommend this for a visit by anyone who wants to go for a drink, or...

We came to St Ives for a weekend away and change of scenery. It was absolutely blowing a gale and pouring rain so not quite the weekend we had hoped for, but as it's early October we can't really complain! We went to Lands End and my husband planned a stop off for lunch at The Tinners Arms based on the reviews on trip advisor, it did not disappoint. We walked into a warm, traditional and just plain gorgeous pub. Fire crackling, dried hops on the beams, big fire places and quite a few content and warm walkers and families. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, and even offering a reduced menu due to covid there was plenty of choice. We had the fresh crab sandwich and a big bowl of warm chicken strew, along with a glass of merlot. All absolutely delicious. The stew in particular was so good, seasoned to perfection. We followed it up with Eton mess and the apple crumble with custard - again, faultless. Thoroughly decent food, lovely staff and a perfect example of how a traditional country pub should be. If you get the chance to pop in - do. You...

It’s the perfect stop after a lovely hike. The staff is very friendly, and the food is on another level. The crab sandwich is a must-try!
