Since they've changed hands, the service and food has gone down hill badly. It is so hit and miss now. One week the food is lovely and the next week its really awful. The staff are the same. Rude one week and good as gold the next week. Not a place I will be going back to. If you don't like your job then go and get another one. You can't work in the public sector and be grumpy and rude, it's not what the public want.
I've since had a reply saying that the owners will tell the chef what I have said about the food and that the chef has been there for 3 years. I am a local and knew the old chef. It's a shame they think they can lie to cover up a bad review.
I have absolutely nothing against the new staff. I've had some decent conversations with them since they started there. I just don't understand the inconsistencies with the food or the mood of the new staff.
The chef is new to this pub. They may not be new to the owner, which could be why they said they had been working there for 3 years, but they are definitely new to the...
Read moreThis is one of those pubs who had to change from being a pub selling beer to becoming a restaurant. Simply put, not enough local people want beer but good food. Oddly enough it is in the Good Pub Guide which I feel would indicate that it is mainly a pub, which it is not. It is a restaurant that sells beer.
The Treleigh Arms does produce good food and I have to recommend it for that reason. If you like good food, the Treleigh Arms (restaurant) won't let you down.
If you simply want to go out for a few drinks, be prepared to have no where to sit except the 3 - 4 bar stools as tables are for those who eat and get reserved (and for that it does get very busy simply because the food is good) and therefore for drinkers, find a pub and not a restaurant. Wetherspoons serve beer and food and you sit where you want
Staff are very professional and polite. Dogs welcome which would be ideal if you could walk in and sit for a...
Read moreHad a fathers day lunch here and it was excellent. The pub is cosy and traditional with a good choice of local ales and wines. The menu offers a good choice of starters, mains and puds with a specials board, the servings are generous and prices very reasonable. Despite it being fathers day and very busy, the staff were warmly welcoming, friendly and attentive. We were shown to our table within minutes of arriving and the food was served quickly. We strongly recommend the Treleigh arms for food, drink and service, any thing less than five stars would be unfair. Looking forward to...
