The Turf Family Pub — Restaurant in England

On Friday 9.9.22. we visited your pub for an evening meal. We were in the area to watch our son shooting (archery) at Lillishall and chose the nearest venue to our accommodation. The food was excellent and so so generous. This was out shone only by the atmosphere. Everyone we spoke to was warm, welcoming and helpful, both staff and customers. One family, mum, dad and young boy added an extra bonus to our night. The boy was so eager to help in the "Playful Game" of finding our table. He chatted openly and politely- but more so he was so full of life and boyish charm. It was a lovely experience. His parents "watched on" (as parents do, to guide him). His Dad alerted him to when our meal arrived, "give them space now to eat" and he did, no opposition. He took the advice. His parents should be justly proud of him. He has that spirit of "youthful friendliness"; may that spirit last a lifetime. His only intention was to be helpful. We ate as a group of 10, the restaurant was busy but we had an issue with the time taken to receive our main meals, when they arrived we were short of items from the festive menu, and sea bass was overcooked, the time taken to correct these issues was too long. At 20.20 we asked if we could have coffees and we're told the machine had been switched off. We had at this point still not received our puddings for the table. We then put in a complaint and too his credit the manager came to table explained what the issue was with the coffee machine and said it was now working again. Had a lovely traditional sunday roast here last week, best sunday roast iv'e had for ages👍. Would recomend you book early as they are always fully booked before sunday. Good selection of beers and also do a couple of traditional ales as well. Sky sports and large tv screens inside and outside. Staff are friendly and helpful and even the locals make you feel welcome to. Nice little snug area with sofa's to sit back and relax and a nice sized outside garden area partly covered as well for those sunny days. Look forward to visiting...
