Pretty poor experience! We arrived just before our reservation time and the table was ready which was great. We all wanted the mixed grill, and when we went to order we were informed that there was no steak and they therefore couldn't make it. There was nothing disclosing this before we seated. There was also no ribs and no haddock - and the lady behind the bar said to one of the staff that they do not know if there was soup. We rechose our food as our options were not available, but has we been aware that so much was not available we would've left. While we were ordering, the woman at the bar decided to make our drinks as they were going along which meant that our food order was delayed and is just a strange way to do things. We also witnessed the staff behind the bar choosing who to serve next, and picking the regulars - rather than those in the queue first. The lack of queueing system meant this was easily the case. The Long Island ice tea was nothing like the usual long ice teas served in any other establishment. We had to take our own drinks to our table without a tray or any assistance. We then began the long wait for the food. While we were waiting, we were almost served the wrong food because the staff did not know which table was where, and it was not well signposted. We waited almost an hour for our food, and when it came it was all overcooked. The portions were not good and the food did not seem to be of good quality. Our burgers well very overdone and Luke rubber, the bun on mine was completely black and the egg on my mum's burger was rubber too. The vegan katsu burger was just two vegan burgers with slop on. No one came to check our food was good and we were not checked on again in our time there. We have not been before/have not been for a really long time and I doubt we'll be back! They women's toilets also stunk and one of them...

Post lockdown get-together for a group of 6 post middle aged people (all fully jabbed and wearing masks) On arrival we we're greeted with a board asking to scan a QR code for track and trace purposes, with instructions to download an app to order at the table, me being the youngest out of a bunch of oldies found it very easy to use, our orders arrived promptly throughout the evening, I would say the evenings trade was steady not busy (but I have been to places that are practically dead, but still take ages to bring your order) Nicely decorated with a relaxing atmosphere, we didn't eat on this occasion but I personally have eaten here once before and enjoyed the food. The venue felt very covid secure, there were plenty of hand sanitizing stations, plenty of space between occupied tables and the staff were very professional and delivered your order without getting 'in your face' Due to the layout of the toilets, the entrance door was able to be left open, which meant you could use the facilities, wash and dry your hands and leave without having to touch anything on the way out. It was a very enjoyable evening and I will definitely be going here again, I will also be recommending this place to anyone that wants to get out and enjoy a night in the pub. Nice little pub, good atmosphere, great staff and fantastic service, what more could...

Great experience and wonderful support for gluten sufferers.

I asked the lady behind the bar about their allergens and she was instantly aware of dishes and cross contamination, offering an app for better viewing (it's called glass onion) and suggested a range of dishes.

The gentleman that took my order was just as good, making sure to get the right dishes and even confirmed coming processes.

They made me feel so confident in my god choices

I got the gluten free option of hunters chicken, and the chips are also gluten free and they were fab. It came with a very powerful but lovely BBQ source on the side, and a latte that they added little smarties to which I thought was sweet.

My partner got the ultimate burger which was huge, very filling, and tasty, that also came with onion rings which sounded so crunchy.

The atmosphere in there is great. The tables are nicely spaced out, the lighting is mellow but not dingy, and the decor is classically fresh. They even have a big dining area which looks like it could fit a nice party of people, with wonderful outside seating.

Will definitely...

Decided to try here for the first time in years tonight with my Mum. Firstly, the pub was warm, friendly and well done out! The staff were extremely helpful and polite. I ordered the chicken and leek pie with chips. The pie was so rock hard, if I’d dropped it on the plate, the plate would have broke. There was 1 piece of chicken in it with frozen veg so really not impressed with my meal. My Mum ordered chicken, bacon and avocado salad which she really enjoyed but there was no avocado on it! My kids really enjoyed their meals and finished the plate. I can’t fault the service or the drinks but the food is way overpriced for what it is and mine was inedible. I’ll be back for drinks but not for food.

My first time visiting today. Pleased to find a doggy friendly place to eat. The outside sheltered areas feel lovely and private. After a long walk with the dogs we treated ourselves to lunch and pud. Full bellies all round. Substantial portions and all delicious and fresh tasting. Would definitely come back again. I had the BLT ciabatta with added grilled chicken and chips instead of crisps. Side salad was lovely and had to fend the rest of the family off of my waffles. Can't comment on alcohol prices as was on tea and coffee. Smarties on the side of my cup was very cute.
