Another let down this week, hit with a smell of grease upon opening the front door. Food took a long time to arrive, we were told an extra 5 mins, which ended up being around 50 minutes for starters. Male server/ manager was on the ball but young female servers didn't seem to have much training and no hospitality. Starter was very overpriced. Main, steak pie was full of meat and had a lot of potential but it was dry, weirdly seasoned and lacked a decent amount of gravy. Had potential but was a miss for us.

Tried 2 dishes from the new lunch menu and I have to say they were really delicious the coconut bowl was more ginger than coconut maybe less ginger more lemon grass I would suggest to balance that out but still a lovely bowl of food. The smash burger was really nice crispy edges you could tell it was made fresh to order the cheese paired really well very happy with the new additions.

Lovely pub with home cooked food. We stayed at the hideaway for one night and ate lunch here. The service was great, food portions were very large. All freshly and home made. Chips were lovely and brown. If we lived in the area would be a firm favourite. Excellent prices too. They had 2 cocktails for 12 pound and were really nice also. Was also nice and warm inside.

It’s easy to be swayed by decor and first class service, so let’s start with the reason we all go out for a meal.... great food! The kitchen staff here are first class and very professional! Our food looked great, tasted great and, having watched the open kitchen from the bar for a short period, it was obviously prepared by people who care about what they are sending out! Now the front of house... professional, caring and attentive, but not too over bearing! We didn’t catch the names of those delivering the exquisite food to the table, but Ben behind the bar and was extremely busy, yet smiled thorough out, and was very efficient. Having great individuals working for you is one thing, but to bring them all together for the perfect service is another, and that is exactly what Craig does here! All in all, a fantastic dining experience I would recommend to anyone! It’s just a shame we didn’t catch the head...

Waited well over 1 hour for food, parents ordered fish and chips, batter on top of fish wash nice and crispy but underneath was very soggy and mushy, mushy peas were in a small metal container this was hot but peas were cold. I had chicken supreme with chorizo and mozzarella cheese I am yet to find the mozzarella, there was also 1 fondant potato, small piece of chicken cut into 3 slices and 6 stems of broccoli, 3 green beans and a couple of pieces of wilted spinach, I did complain that there was no mozzarella and the waiter did say that there had people had previously said the same as me, he went on to say that the chorizo and mozzarella were pureed but it does not say that on the menu, this is definitely not worth the £21 as it is priced. I will give them credit though as they didn't charge for my meal, and got a discount off the fish and chips. This was the 1st time we had been there but we won't...

I didnt eat this ocassion due to no appetitie for a sunday roast. No other option other than a mushroom risotto. Not restaurants fault as we only went there due to hamilton russell being full. Kids ordered 2x sausage mash, 1 cheese fries and my partner has the soup. All well presented and food was nice. The issue we had was the drinks. We order 3 cordial. 1 orange, 2 blackcurrent and 1 pepsi max. The juices were like water. I thought it was the kids being fussy but i tried it they were awful. Then i tried my pepsi. Its wasnt nice at all, you could tell the syrup to soda is set low. Either to save money or unexperianced staff i dont know. Personally i think you should always have your basics correct to have a successful business. We were never asked how are meal was so we didnt approach the subject. We just paid and left. We probably wont...
