We found the wine tasting place passing by chance we have always wanted to do the day so we went ahead and booked.. the day satrted at 12 pm Thursday 1st August we were in our motorhome so we had to travel in this to the wine tasting..parking was ample..the tour was great and the 2 chaps dealing with us until 3.10 were amazing so 100% to these 2 until it came to the 2 young girls taking over at 3pm but these 2 turned up 10 minutes late .. we had spoken to both chaps throughout the day and also asked with us being in our motorhome would it be ok to top our bottle up on the motorhome with water and also stay over night if we were eating and drinking as we couldnt drink and drive, which they both agreed too which was amzing again for us👍😁100% and 5 star to the daytime chaps. I asked if he would inform the 2 young girls of this also so they knew what we were doing, which he did.. so off our night went it was great.we also bought 2 bottles of the wine we tried during the day as it was also kind that they had agreed to us staying over night.. then this is were it all changed with the 2 young girls.. 1 of the bottles of wine we had bought was £22.95 from the chaps in the day..we put in the motorhome for another evening.. my partner then went back to the bar and ordered me my larger and a bottle of wine for herself for the evening but when she had to pay they charged £38.95 for the wine and larger..so £10 charge they say on top of the usual price of the drinks for corking which wasnt mentioned and to me is a disgrace.. also baring in mind we had spent over £200 in the complete day.. then it came to 9pm when they strarted to close we had a knock on the camper door as we had gone back around 8pm as it was then getting cold.. the chap at the door was a chef from the kitchen, the 2 young girls had obviously sent the chap across to tell us we cant stay over night as it wasnt there policy..bare in mind we had already been told we could stay so we had been drinking so couldnt drive so now we were stuck as to what to do.. so basicly we had to move somewhere that evening😡so i started the motorhome reversed up to the outside water tap to fill up the water ... suprise suprise the water had also been turned off... so now no water also.. this stems from us going to the bar and not being happy with the charge of £10 to open a bottle of wine we bought there to drink that evening after spending £200.. so all this i put down to bitterness from the 2 young girls that turned up later for work in the first place.. i must return back to the chaps working during the day they were😁👍100% 5 star all round but the 2 young girls are a disgrace to this company..ruined our whole day.. id never return to this place after this.. 👎👎👎👎👎and the chef who they sent to knock on the door wasnt even there when the earlier conversation was taking place about us staying or having water so was obviously sent by the 2 disgracefull...
Read moreOur second visit but first as The Vine. We had the place mainly to ourselves although it was 3:30pm so an odd time. Staff were really friendly. Tables inside were laid out for dining so hopefully they had people booked in for later. Menu looked interesting and as we were on a walk only stopped for drinks of which they have a good selection. We'll pop back one evening before we go home for a proper meal. Please make time to drop in as it's a great spot for a...
Read moreIncredible atmosphere, especially on a sunny evening. The food was delicious, although it could be considered that the menu may be slightly limited. The wine made by Knightor (the vineyard’s own) was fantastic. In the early spring months it is important to wrap up warm as the venue is situated in a barn and whilst they do have indoor heaters, it can still be a little bit chilly - albeit lovely and very...
