After a lovely afternoon at Marcle Steam Rally, we decided to cross the road and go to the Walwyn Arms for a meal. We asked about the steak menu and were told they were 4oz steaks. When I go out for a meal I want a 16oz or more and not a forkful. The barman said the carvery was on and we could eat as much as you could get on your plate. Well what a disappointment !!! The meat was beef and gammon. One slice of each cut paper thin. He then poured gravy over the meat and Yorkshire pudding. The stuffing was dry as dust, the vegetables were roasted beetroot, carrots that had only had couple of seconds in boiling water, red cabbage, new potatoes that had been partly boiled partly roasted so they were not one thing or another. There was no greenery on the plate not even peas. At £10.50 rip off. At £3.50, probably...

Went here for Christmas and wow a really beautiful pub with a friendly owner and super attentive staff and excellent homemade food that totally blows most carverys out off the water .Being a professionally trained chef I am hard to please and very rarely leave without criticism but the chef was a great guy very professional and friendly and cooked us up a storm of vibrant fresh steaming hot food that had me super impressed .The vegetables were perfectly cooked and the Yorkshire pudding, surfing and meats were A1 .The beef and turkey was executed to perfection and even extra gravy was delivered by the chef to your table .If you want a wholesome meal with a beautiful setting and a well stocked bar then visit the walwyn Arms. I would book to avoid dissapointment as it gets busy for the right reasons .5 star review...

Nice venue and safe during covid times. Unfortunately the Sunday carvery we had must have been the chef's day off.

It's not a carvery by choice , understandable that you get it plated up and served to you and cannot really choose, we did put a choice in but it was not honoured and the waiter just walked off.

However 2 badly cooked roast potatoes, a bit of veg, and beef so rare I couldn't cut it with my knife and fork with blood on the plate and a stale Yorkshire pudding really doesn't sit right with me.

The positive was the pudding was good but I'd not eat a roast dinner from here again which is a shame as I want to support a local independent pub in difficult times but the quality of the food was not worth money on this occasion.

I'm glad other diners seem to have not...

This place is a hidden gem. Found when we were passing through. We do live around Gloucester but never really been to Much Marcle. The excellence started with the two young ladies who welcomed us as soon as we set foot in the place. A rarity to be greeted anywhere these days. Lovely food. This is a well run establishment ( a credit to the owners) A well oiled machine. 110 per cent worth going to. We tried the set menu but next time we will do the open menu. They also do a carvery on Sundays I believe. Cant wait to co.e back. Very relaxing place with great and genuinely inerested staff who will ask you many times.es if everything is ok

If you are a cider drinker, The Walwyn Arms is a little slice of heaven. They specialise in Westons ciders but other drinks are available. I enjoyed a flight of ciders; three one-third point glasses of different ciders served on a wooden paddle. This is a great way to sample different ciders along-side each other without falling over. I sat with my family in a small snug at the end of the pub with just a wood burning stove for company. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and of course, great cider.

A very nice Cider and restaurant in the Herefordshire village of Much Marcle, located opposite Much Marcle Garage, a d not far from Ledbury. There is a wide selection of Weston's Cides as well as cask ales and wines and Spirits. Food is also very nice, There is also Popular Sunday carvery, serving Herefordshire beef. staff are friendly too, so all in all a pleasant country Inn which is Wel work a visit if you are in the area.
