Had a lovery Meal here at Lunch time for the first time with my Sister/Niece/Daughter & Granddaughter. Gary & Alison were very friendly with a warm welcome on arrival. Excellent Food with Huge Portions Nice menu with plenty to choose from & they also have Daily Specials on the board - Matching Dinner Sets which is rare to see in Pubs these days - Excellent Dinner Service - Friendly Staff - Child Friendly - Clean Restrooms that smelt Fresh as soon as you walked in there & Clean Premises in every Room - Value for Money - Huge Free Car Park to the side of the Building - Outdoor Seating Area - Disabled excess with ramp to outside Seating Area - Pool Table - Huge TV for Watching Football or the Races. Will Definitely be returning with other Family Members.

June 2022 update: New menu and pub layout. We had rogan josh chicken kebab and fish and chips which was very nice. Not al- a-ping at all! Old review: Decent local pub. Pool table. Darts board. Sports channel. There is a back room for food, so good for booking birthdays etc. Food is fine don’t expect anything exquisite but definitely good value. Not a bad choice of beers, be nice to have more Belgium beers.. There is an outside space for the summer months. Free parking is usually no problem at Thornton square or the side car park available by the side pub.

The decor inside is beautiful and well set out. Our meal was really lovely and the young lady that served us was very helpful with her recommendations on the menu. I had the chicken curry on kebab which was very tasty and one she said is very popular. Only downside I found was the steps up from the car park. There wasn't a rail to use as a support as I have poor mobility and struggle with steps at times. There was probably disabled access somewhere but I didn't see any signs. I'd definitely go again however

A couple of friends and I met here for an Xmas meal at lunchtime before Xmas day. The pub was freezing. Unfortunately the food didn't live up to the presentation. Looked lovely, nicely presented but the only things that were remotely hot was the mash potatoes and the unusual coloured gravy (white). The carrots looked like they came out of a tin, the sprouts were aired, the roast potatoes were warm. A positive is that there was plenty of everything. Had the veg been served in bowls instead of flat plates, at least the veg would have stayed warm if not hot. I chose Xmas pudding for dessert, which one assumes comes hot, this was also cold. Apparently this is how they serve it. It depends on one's taste. On a positive note, I have to commend the service of the lovely bar staff, who couldn't be more helpful and polite. However, I do have it on good authority that their other meals are excellent but I feel that for a pub they should stick to making sure their food is hot and less on trying to be an up...

Really disappointed. Was looking forward to a nice tea with my 2 sons . Rang up made a reservation. Arrived as I was walking in seen 2 lads walking from the backroom with no masks on to the toilet in the hallway next to front door . I walked to the bar and said iv booked a table . Was told . Oh you have to book in first at the door so go bk to the door sign me and my kids in to have a young girl with a stinking attitude approach saying have you got your masks . I'd forgotten mine . My son doesn't have to wear them . Now I'm more than happy to follow guidelines. But if your going to let the regulars walk around with out masks 😷 then why create a problem at the door i was already in the pub why not seat us wear you don't have to wear a mask . What a joke . And for your so called staff they need some training in customer...
