2017 Innocent Bystander Moscato, Australia
Rose coloured, it exudes fairy floss, sherbet, pink grapefruit & mandarin aromas with a note of toffee apple. The wine has a spritzy fizz fresh pear & raspberry finish.

Wow i love this high quality and relaxed restaurant and eaten here several times in the last 5 years. The food is astonishing in this large but quaint country pub. Everything including the varieties of fresh bread is made on the premises.

The staff are happy and proud to work there, my sister works in the next village and knows most of them. The prices are good and it's all fresh made on site, just ask and they will tailor any meal for you np because they can.

Because it is a village pub it has a dartboard and pool table which are great ways to engage and kick off a local conversation if you want to. You need to book dinner tables at busy times, it's simple to do and well worth it.

The male toilets are cold but clean, can't remember if they were accessible or had hot water.

Large car park and easy to find just off the A1 but mobiles don't generally work, really, no google, nothing, 12 people zilch, hey, no cheating in the pub quiz then huh.

Our group is quite large, often 12, it makes things complicated for kitchen staff but they faultlessly delivered delicious hot food with great timing and co-ordination every year. Its an award winning top place to eat at an...

Firstly, terrific food, we'll definitely be returning. The free homemade olive bread with butter and oil was a great touch and absolutely delicious - so much so I didn't get a picture before we ate it. The Pork Belly was spectacular, the best pork I've ever tasted and I'd wholly recommend it. A full piece of crackling along the edge was great and made for a special treat. My beef was also excellent, not as flavoursome as the pork was but tender and still delicious. The roast potatoes were great too, hard crunchy outsides but a perfect fluffy softness inside, just how you want them, and the accompanying gravy was a decent thickness and full of flavour itself. The Yorkshire was huge and crunchy, maybe a little too well done on the outside edge which made it a tad dry but the body was great. Desserts were also very good, the creme brulee had a great top on it and the flavours worked very well together. The ginger sponge wasn't too heavy and the subtle sweet ginger was a nice end to the meal. Definitely...

Flawless Great personal service, ambience, and top-notch food

It was a great find, a 45-minute from home, and well worth it for a long overdue catch-up with a friend.

Nice little touch of homemade onion bread and homemade butter served as a pre starter.

For starters, we had chicken liver parfait, which was the best yet, smooth and creamy served with warm toast. Also, apple goats cheese and spiced pecan salad.

Mains, both of us opted for the roast beef. I'm glad we did. Otherwise, one would have had good envy. Beautifully served pink with the largest Yorkshire pudding I've ever been served. Great combo of sides and sauces.

Dessert, we didn't really have room, but we managed to share a pavlova! Delicious light meringue served with whipped cream and fresh strawberries.

I would recommend a visit. We are looking forward to coming over on a week day in the...

Called in for some lite food options, however only had a full sunday menu on so only stopped for a pint. Lovely accomodating & friendly staff, who were happy to find us a table at short notice. Super clean inside and out. Modern and comtempoary theme, decent selection of beers and wines. My parter was reccomended a really good rose by a member of staff. The pub is dog friendly and we enjoyed chatting to a few of the owners. We did not try the food this time, however there was a nice smelling odor of roast beef flowing through the pub. It smelled delicious. If in the area, calling in is must. Hope to return in the future.
