We stayed here whilst going to the Crick Boat Show on Saturday 24th May 2025. Positives in my opinion - Great location, friendly staff, nice clean comfortable rooms, nice to hear the church bells chime on the hour which is situated behind the pub, good food and nice breakfast which is included in the price of the room.Accessible rooms available with walk in shower. Co-op opposite for amenities. Negatives in my opinion - parking limited no blue badge spaces, pillows were basic and shower is a rainfall one so not as powerful to wash your hair is needed. Definitely more positives so would recommend to stay and eat here as lovely atmosphere and food was delicious. Perfect stay for attending the Crick Boat Show as less than 10 mins away! To sum up, will stay again :)

Wow what an experience. Fantastic greeting from staff and manager. Ordered drinks came promptly then waitress left us to peruse menu at our own speed. I had steak, cooked beautifully, my son had halloumi fish n chips. The batter was perfect. Waitress checked all ok asked if we needed extra drinks or anything condiments. Left to eat out meal. Despite being busy nothing felt manic and was well run. Dessert was to die for and absolutely superb......major plus points for the chef from me on that. I had the dark chocolate and raspberry creme brulee. I will be back most definitely the service we received from Lora and her team tonight was 10 out of 10. Thank you guys for making my birthday better after a bad start

the room in the new part was ok but the food in this place is literally the worst i have ever experienced anywhere. can't get basic stuff right, the cook is clearly trying to be a chef and failing. i asked specifically for a pizza with just tomato base and cheese. i got one covered in rocket with big thick shavings of parmesan cheese on top with barely any tomato base at all. the chips were 3 quid in the picture, can only presume cooked 3 times over the period of a week and the less said about the MSG all over the garlic bread the better. sorry, but this place needs serious help in the kitchen. room ok hence the one star.

This is a village pub which does rooms and, like many country pubs, does really great food. I had had a terrific Sunday lunch here before I booked into their B&B and I have now stayed there a number of times.||||Although they call it a B&B rather than a hotel, the rooms are equipped to the standard of a budget hotel chain (spare pillows in the room, tea, coffee and fancy biscuits, TV with Freeview, comfortable mattress etc) but the room rate includes a breakfast sourced to the same high standard as the rest of their menu. There is, of course, a full English with sausages that clearly come from a local butcher, but also all the other options we have come to expect nowadays of a good breakfast menu such as smashed avocado on toast and vegetarian and vegan options. It's all cooked to order - only the cereals, fruit juices etc are on a self-serve buffet.||||If I had to find something they could improve on, it would be that the breakfast service can be a little slow if a number of people come down at the same time, but not to the point that it is problematic. Also, as a woman travelling alone, I would appreciate it if staff could make some gesture to let me know they have noticed me when I arrive at pub to check in or come down for breakfast. I know they know I'm there, but a quick smile or nod would stop me from feeling invisible as they...

Ate there for a family lunch, disappointing. I had beef with root veg but no veg unless you count two thin slices of baby carrot and a cm cube of swede, plenty of meat to be fair but all very salty, perhaps adding potato of some sort would have improved it; if you like your dumplings light and fluffy, you'll be disappointed as they served a dense spongy one. My sister choose off the gluten free menu, first two choices weren't available, she had steak medallions with fried eggs with jacket potato which could have fitted on a side plate. My wife had lasagne which was just pasta sheets with sauce (she liked the sauce) still bubbling from microwaving, meat free? This restaurant doesn't do garnishes or veg much if any. Fries were very salty. The vegans with us were happy with their meals. Puddings at £7.25 were expensive for what they were. To be fair I enjoyed my waffle and my wife liked the cheesecake. Apple crumble in a small pot accompanied by a thimble of...
