The White Bear Inn — Restaurant in England

We stopped here on a whim with a party of 6 and fortunately they were able to cater for us. The menu choices are great and fresh home cooked. The wait time on the food is a bit longer than mainstream pubs but once we started to tuck in, it was obvious why. All plates were cleared by each party member. My steak was quite possibly the best I have had, with fresh home cooked chips and fresh peppercorn sauce to top it off. I would definitely consider a return visit if I am in the area. The staff are very accommodating and helpful, which added to a fabulous visit. Thank you from us all. Our party returned for a second meal this week and again the food was amazing. The people working there were just so kind. Valentine’s night, family of four with two under 8years, no booking, not a problem. They all went above and beyond; taking an interest in us, giving ideas as to where to visit, delicious food and drinks, great service, engaging with the children, just being so lovely. Even a lollipop at the end of the meal for the little ones. Such a lovely, chilled atmosphere with very kind staff. Lovely looking typing country pub. But once sat at table I was cold as they left front door open, I had to eat my meat with coat on, as did many other diners. Price reasonable. Staff friendly and helpful. Ordered fish and chips, chips had been overcooked and looked like they had been warned up and didn't taste that great, the batter on fish was uncooked in places but the fish inside was really nice.
