The White Swan — Restaurant in England

Mixed feelings overall. I ordered the chicken wrap with a side of loaded fries however I asked for no jalapeños to be put on the fries as they make me quite ill. My party’s meals all came together in a timely manner however my loaded fries came with jalapeños. When I flagged it the young waiter anxiously went back to the kitchen and returned saying ‘we can just pick them out for you’ which seemed rather careless. I asked for a fresh one to be made which they agreed to and at the end they took money off our drinks for the trouble which is more than fair. At the end I got an apology from who I think was one of the kitchen staff themselves too which was good. As far as the rest of my order goes, the chicken wrap was tiny so if you’re looking for something substantial maybe order something else. I will say though that the other two people I was with very much enjoyed their meals so I think it was just me who had the short straw this time. We were offered coffee at the end by a rather abrasive waitress who rudely responded to my partner with a ‘YER WHAT?!’ When she asked if there were any dairy free milk alternatives. ‘No we got nothin like that’ she said loudly in a rather flippant manner to which we were rather perplexed by as there is a whole separate vegan menu. All in all the place seemed to be very clean with a nice atmosphere however I did feel at times like the staff were kind of in a rush to get you sat down, fed and out...

Had a very enjoyable visit this evening, food and service was spot on and couldn't fault anything. Pub is warm and cozy and beautifuly decorated and beer garden looks great, can't wait for spring to enjoy fully. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of food but let me tell you the food was delicious and hot and wait time was perfect. I opted for the Chicken ballotine served with well seasoned creamy mash , squeaky green beans and rich gravy 😋 and the wife went for traditional fish and chips which she let me try some and it was delicious, batter was perfect and I'm from a seaside town so no my fish & chips. Was a little greedy and added a side of salt & pepper chicken bites.... equally delicious just unfortunately to full to try a dessert 😔.. . next time! We also had 2 pints and Bill was only £43 worth every penny as portions were great 👍 Nice to see everyone enjoying there visit and also nice to see a dog friendly pub 😀 Hats off to the Lady who looked after us, sorry didn't catch her name but extremely friendly and professional 😉 Thank you so much to the kitchen for making us such a lovely meal and will be bringing our friends next visit. Food was shocking. T bone steak was tough and fatty, tripple cooked chips were actually frozen chips Peppercorn sauce was deffinatly from a packet. My wife got chicken pie, it was swimming in garlic sauce , it did not say that it was in garlic sauce, also said came with seasonal veg turned out to be just garden peas again it said triple cooked chips but were actually frozen, think the menu was decieving to what I thought we were getting, was not what we actually got, never put a review on any web site before but just feel like they need to say on their menu what you are actually getting dont say sesonal veg just say garden peas, say if the pie is in garlic sauce, triple Cook chips usually means home cook chips not out...
