We came here for lunch after a trip to Burley in Wharfedale, Ilkley and Addingham in which we spent the morning house hunting. I’d seen this place on Facebook a few months ago and have been on my bucket list since. We arrived about 1.30pm on a windy Tuesday and you have to walk through the Snooty Frox shop.

The Wild Plum is on the first floor up some stairs towards the side of the shop. The waiting area was busy with people waiting for a table. It’s a sign of a good place when there’s a long queue on a Tuesday afternoon. Nevertheless, as we travelled from afar, we were prepared to wait.

The decor/surroundings is fresh and modern and love the teal colour on the wall. It has been tastefully decorated with had a real welcoming feel! It’s also a fab place for those Instagrammers! Plenty of photo opportunities of the surroundings!

We were taken to our taken after about a 15 minute wait. The service was great and quick. We’d already looked at the menu as we waited so ordered pretty much straight away!

We kept looking around at what other diners had ordered and couldn’t wait for our food to arrived! When it did come, our mouths dropped! The presentation of the food was fantastic! It was almost too good to eat! The food looked fresh and colourful.

The Buddha bowl was a joy to eat. Every mouthful was a surprise! There were such variety that I didn’t want it to stop!

The crispy chilli beef was so light to eat and very tasty! It came with glass/rice noodles along with fresh veg and peanuts.

The curry was beautifully presented and our friend loved it!!

All in all, it’s a great place if you like something different for lunch. They also serve waffles all day, alongside plenty of cakes.

This is such a hidden gem! We’ll be back to try the other dishes on the menu!

Service was...

Staggeringly outstanding! Exquisite food. Exemplary staff. Brilliant decor and vibe. Loved, loved, loved it. What shall I regale you with.....?.... hmmm... after a slightly confusing entrance, all was marvelous. This restaurant is upstairs above the shop, but the sign asks you to wait at the shop door downstairs in a corridor til you get seated. So if there are no staff to hand then your waiting is somewhat hidden. That out the way, this is a top notch establishment which I cannot recommend enough. First time here, won't be my last. I had green tea and opted for the homemade chickpea fritters, cashew croquettes, coffee baked beetroot, roasted butternut squash, rainbow chard, pickled enoki mushrooms, crispy carrot scraps with linseed and pumpkin crackers. My, what a divine, heavenly, scrumptious plateful that lot was! So, so yummy. But am saving the best bit til the end... oh my .... home brewed kombucha!!!!! Warrants every exclamation mark, in a good way. Never seen this on a menu anywhere before. Now I drink a lot of kombucha, a lot! And I have to tell you that from the get go, from the first sip, this homemade kombucha has such a high DK factor it blows your socks off. Wowsies. I had the rhubarb and raspberry and it was the best, simply the absolute best kombucha I have ever tasted. I didn't want the glass to empty. Various flavours available including Spiced Apple, Winter Spice. Judy, you are a total kombucha wizard. This reviewer is for returning. Very highly recommended for every award going. Marvelous. With bells on. 10 stars,...

I have just read the managers new reply. OMG, shocked. I think the tone and the fact that my mobility issue had to be on show for all to see is an insult. As we were offered a short low down bar stool as my wife has mobility issues. Lady who showed us in, then didn't seem happy we were not accepting the stools. She took us back outside to wait outside the door and told us we would have a long wait and asked us to wait until the table came free. NOT THE QUEUING PROCESS that was the problem. It was how we were spoken to and treated because we didn't accept what was offered. Lady talked to us like a school mistress, then pointed and was aggressive at one point all because i moved to look in the shop window and away from the queue point she had placed us at. We were not there to be spoken to like naughty school children, so we left. All because we weren't standing in the right spot outside, whilst only us were there. Raised with the manager who seemed to think her attitude was OK, as does the owners reply to my review, not exactly a professional reply, just excuses for poor customer service. Shame as I was taking my husband there for the first time and with a wedding in mind for an outfit, as it came highly recommended. Will be sharing my experience with others. My advice avoid as they might have great food, their customer service wasn't great, and the owners' reply is not accepting perhaps they got it wrong....

My sis and I visited for a special occasion. Sadly, we were disappointed ā˜¹ļø The staff were friendly, but - as a person who visits eateries regularly- I was gobsmacked by the prices (Ā£19.50 for a turkey toastie on their lunch menu). The presentation on the Classic Pancakes was stunning, delicious flavours (Ā£15.50) and plenty to share. We shared that as "pud" which followed (shared) poached eggs on sourdough. That was just OK - the dukkha and watery brown sauce didn't really work, but the addition of fresh herbs was really lush. My sister's cappuccino just wasn't a cappuccino - why can so few people foam milk?! There was zero atmosphere in the place, poor lighting and it wasn't particularly warm. For Ā£30 on breakfast for two, I'd like a gorgeous memorable experience but I'm afraid neither of us would return here in a hurry. While I appreciate the artistry and complex flavours, the detail in the presentation...but the cafe still felt "cheap" (plastic Christmas tree on the table). And during a time when people are penny pinching, I felt a bit sick spending so much on above-average food. Sorry guys!
