Our 2nd visit to this pub for food.l, and all I can say is "WOW". Today we had the carvery and the choice of 3 fresh meats and a selection of 9 potatoes and veg, all fresh and very hot, great value for money.Lovely country pub where locals and staff make you feel very welcome. So don't drive past cal in. We are on the caravan park behind and will be highly recommending this to others. Proper home cooked food no frozen stuff absolutley amazing. See below the Sunday

Food was good, albeit it slow due to a fryer issue. We were the only ones dining and the place was cold.

Only stopped by for a couple of beers but staff, pub, beer, garden, all first-class.

We went here for dinner with a friend this week. The service was awful, the food even worse. Rekorderlig (my wife’s favourite drink) was heavily advertised all over the bar, but they didn’t have any. Cue #1 for hilarity from the barmaid. My wife chose fajitas and they proved to be inedible. The salsa sauce was ketchup, the guacamole was non-existent and the sour cream was salad cream. It was so heavily spiced, it set us all off coughing and choking when it arrived at the table. We even had to ask for a plate to eat it from – when the plate finally appeared it was redundant as the chicken proved far too spicy to eat. No apology or offer of compensation – cue #2 for more hilarity from the waitress. Basil Fawlty would be in his element here – he may have even trained the staff in handling complaints. Quite the worst meal we’ve had for many years. Avoid this place...

On our journey from Newton Powys to Birmingham, my family and I were looking for a good place to stop for dinner. We noticed The Wingfield Arms on the way and decided to give it a try—and we’re so glad we did!

The food was absolutely delicious, with a variety of options to suit everyone in our group. The staff serving us were amazing—friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful, which made the experience even better.

The pub itself has a lovely, welcoming atmosphere, and the location is stunning, surrounded by beautiful scenery. It was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal after a long drive. The best part? It wasn’t too expensive, making it excellent value for money.

Overall, I can’t fault anything about this place. It truly deserves five stars for the food, service, and ambiance. Highly...

So, we 1st went to Oxon Priory but that was just shocking. Called here to get in, yes we can squeeze you in. NOBODY else there.!! Noticed Carvery ended at 4pm arrived @4:20. Great,😟 asked the question, can we still have a Carvery. Yes no problem. Talk about stingy portions. Ok we were the last customers for food (apart from the staff) meat was dry and chewy. After the staff had there pickings the food was just binned. I mean really!!! No real ales. Dated dĂ©cor and talk about the toilets!! Let's not.

Being truly honest, im sure it's a good Sunday lunch just don't go late in...
