We walked into the Worlds end pub last Sunday afternoon at 14.30. A nice buzz from the tables dotted with families, etc. There is a nice atmosphere here, very welcoming, comphy. I was with my daughter and her partner today after visiting one of the close by apiaries of South Street Honey. Kati wanted the chicken pie. It comes with a bit of mash and some cabbage, peas, and bacon. The pie was ok Kati said. It looked full of filling. A bit long in the microwave she said. Mash was not very buttery, and the cabbage mix had a lot of rooty bits in it, and again over microwaved. She ate it though. More gravy next time as well. Sarah had the double cheese burger. She said it was alright. She liked the chips. Cheese was nice in the burger the the meat patties she said were nothing special. I have the vegan burger. Chips were nice like Sarah's. The pickles were good (I asked for cows milk cheese which was swapped for the plant cheese) Why don't chefs toast the burger bun? Sarah's weren't toasted either. It stops the sauce seeping into the bun and adds another texture. Drinks were as expected. Pudding were offered but at the average £8.50 each we opted out. Our bill was £72 for 3 drinks and 3 main courses. It's a bit on the pricey side for average pub grub. If the niggles were sorted and a bit more attention to detail, this would be a great place to eat.

Wow. Amazing and the absolute best service ever! Booked and reserved online (the same day) for lunch. Extreamly easy process. We were instantly impressed by the beautiful building. So well laid out for accessibility. Interestingly, tastefully and warmly decorated, spotlessly clean and bright. We were intrigued. Our party of 6 (plus one dog), were cheerfully greeted by Steve. Clearly an asset and gem! It was obvious from the onset he is passionate about his job, the company, the history of the building, and most importantly.... offering the best service to his customers. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble and it was a pleasure learning about the building and it's history. Food was served quickly, efficiently and was delicious. Very reasonably priced. On leaving, our old dog was also given a special doggy icecream, which she devoured. Big thank you from us. Fantastic service and enjoyable experience. Well done to Steve and the team. Definitely recommend!!

This charming, characterful, family / dog friendly, country pub is highly recommended. If you've not tried the World's End out recently then you're seriously missing out. It's very spacious inside and out and the beer garden and patio area is fab with a little play area for the children. The food is nicely cooked and very tasty. There's excellent menu choices including a good range of vegan/vegetarian options which kept my daughter happy. The staff are very well trained, friendly and efficient. They cannot do enough to make your experience special. Happy staff = happy customers šŸ˜‰. Today we enjoyed the gravalax and lamb kofta's .... 'seriously delicious'!. The menu apparently changes today so we'll be looking forward to revisiting soon to check that out!! Thinking of joining in with their Wednesday quiz night too. #WorldsEndseriouslybrilliant #WorldsEnd

We visited this pub on a Saturday evening around 7pm. Despite the place being almost empty and plenty of staff on duty, the service was surprisingly poor. Our drink order was taken quickly, but it took over 15 minutes to actually receive the drinks — not a great start.

We ordered six adult meals and one child’s meal, as our older children have healthy appetites. Shockingly, the children’s meal was not only the largest portion served but was plastered in salt — genuinely concerning given it was meant for a young child.

Three of us ordered mac and cheese, which turned out to be the size of a microwave ready-meal from a supermarket — and somehow they cost Ā£14.50 each. Incredibly underwhelming and absolutely not worth the price. The garlic bread was forgotten and only brought to the table at the end of the meal after we reminded staff.

The burgers, while tasty, also came in small portions and were again over-salted. At no point during the meal did anyone check in with us or ask if everything was okay, even though staff kept checking in with the table next to us.

We were asked if we wanted dessert, to which we said yes — and then were completely ignored. No one came back to take our order. Empty bottles, glasses, and used cutlery piled up on our table while we sat and waited. Thankfully, there’s a small play area that kept the kids occupied during the wait.

Admittedly, we didn’t raise our concerns directly with staff at the time, as we hoped things would turn around — especially considering there were seven of us, and we were hard to miss in an otherwise quiet pub. But instead of improving, the service just dropped off completely. Eventually, I had to go to the bar myself with our empties and ask someone to come over — over 30 minutes after being offered dessert. Again, this was at around 8:30pm, and the pub was still nearly empty.

To their credit, the desserts were delicious, and the waffle presentation — while it looked like it had just been chucked on the plate — gave us a bit of a laugh. It was clear the kitchen staff were ready to clock off, but at least the dessert tasted good.

In total, we spent Ā£200. Honestly, we all agreed we would have had a better, more satisfying, and better value-for-money experience at a Hungry Horse. Disappointing on so many levels, and we won’t...

My partner and I were really looking forward to going here after reading such great reviews. We were expecting slow service because multiple reviews had mentioned this as the one downside of the pub, but we were still a little frustrated when, after half an hour and no communication from the staff, we decided we would only have a chance to order food by going up to the bar. Once we'd ordered, it wasn't too long before the food arrived. They hadn't got the order quite right, but it was close enough and easily fixed. The steak pie was okay, but not amazing. Unfortunately, the beef burger was too burnt to eat. After requesting to have it replaced (something I very, very rarely do, as I'm the kind of person to put up with mediocre food, but the taste was unbearable and making me feel sick), the new one wasn't as bad, although still quite burnt around the edges. I then realised that the burgers themselves, as well as quite pathetically thin, were almost tasteless. I ate as much as I could and gave the rest of the meat to our dog. We also would have been extremely let down if we were hoping for a Sunday roast at 7pm as one of the waitresses (another downfall is that we got served by about five different people in the space of the two hours we were there) told us nonchantly that there were no roasts left as she seated us at the table. Overall, we were really disappointed with this place. It looks lovely outside and inside, but the staff are inattentive and don't seem to care all that much (usually too busy chatting to each other to notice there are customers waiting, and only do the bare minimum when they do), and the food was dissatisfying despite endless reviews saying...

Sadly my wife and I will not be returning to this establishment… after we ate there last evening… Everything was ok with this place apart from the food…My wife had a Chicken meal we’re upon she found everything was swimming in oil! My meal was a steak pie. The pie was so over baked I had to stab my knife into the rock hard pastry to get to the filling! I called over the waitress that served us, she was very apologetic and embarrassed, she spoke to the manager and I was offered a free drink, which I declined. I said I will not be making a fuss for I didn’t want to embarrass my wife. I had to drown the pie with the gravy to soften the crust to mate it edible. Will not be returning.

MY REPLY TO YOUR MISLEADING INFORMATION FROM YOUR STAFF ON DUTY AT THE TIME OF OUR EXPERIENCE….Please read carefully:

Thank you for your response. But I am afraid that the waitress who dealt with our complaint only offered me a free drink as my wife and friends will confirm. There was NO mention of a free meal. A replacement meal would have been more acceptable but then I would have had to wait for it to be cooked and the party I was with would have finished their meal which wouldn’t have been ideal. Please also note that when we arrived the duty manager was very attentive and ensured we had drinks and took our meal choices ensuring we saw the list of ingredients in the meals so we could check for allergies. However, when I complained he didn’t come over and speak to us he sent the waitress and as we paid and left he just sat at a table and said goodbye. As the manager I would have expected an...
