Not bad. We decided to give the Wye a go. First time in over 2 years. Our last visit was not good but we thought, post covid restrictions it might be better. We felt rushed to our seat and asked what drinks we wanted. We ordered a lemonade and a coke. The half pint glass was clearly worn out and the coke was served in an old pint glass which also had seen better days. On trying them, both drinks were flat so we asked for a replacement. The manager returned to say that the machine was out of service so I went for a bottle of coke, which was also flat and my wife went for a bitter lemon. The manager returned again to say they were out of bitter lemon so she opted for an orange juice. We ordered our meal and half an hour later it arrived. My wife is vegetarian, for medical reasons so went for the vege carvery which consisted of all the carvery veg and a mushroom Wellington with Stilton and spinach. What she got was mushroom and brie in pastry. No spinach in the dish at all. The carvery veg was not fresh and was dry and shrivelled. I had the mega mixed grill. Sausage, pork chop, gammon, black pudding & steak with chips, peas, onion rings and tomato. The steak was cooked beautifully but unfortunately the rest was extremely dry. The gammon and chop seemed to have been cooked and kept warm and was tough as old boots. The onion rings shattered when I put my fork in them as did the black pudding. The chips and peas were OK. We had another drink so I went for an old mout alcohol free cider. That was really nice but over £4 a bottle. The service from the waitresses was excellent. The manager was very over familiar and called me mate whilst leaning on the table with his hands. OK we are moving out of covid but please keep your hands off of the table I am about to eat at. The meal came to £31 and I was still charged for a pint of flat coke when I actually got less than a pint of flat bottled coke. The wye is my local but unfortunately we won't be returning. It's a real shame because it has potential to be a really lovely pub. I would reduce the menu and make the available dishes better. Add more than three vegetarian options and ensure that they are...

Our Rotary Club recently enjoyed a wonderful evening at The Wye Inn in Hereford, and we couldn’t have been more impressed with the experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome, providing friendly and attentive service throughout the evening. Their professionalism and warmth added to the relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, making it a truly memorable dining experience for our group.
The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the fantastic carvery. The selection of beautifully cooked meats was outstanding—tender, flavourful, and served in generous portions. The accompaniments were just as impressive, with a great selection of fresh vegetables, crispy roast potatoes, and rich, flavoursome gravy that tied everything together perfectly. Every dish was well-prepared and full of hearty, traditional flavours, making it a real treat for everyone at the table.
Overall, our visit to The Wye Inn was a fantastic experience, thanks to the excellent food and first-class service. The team went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful evening, and we’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-quality meal in Hereford. We’ll certainly be returning for another...
Read moreI went last Sunday after booking the 2pm slot for 4. We were sat waiting 40 mins until drinks order was taken then over an hour for our carvery. A table of 6 who came in after us was sat the other side and were served way before us drinks and food they even noticed and felt bad but it weren't their fault :) We were not asked once if our food was okay? We then finished and were waiting for another 30mins for the table to be cleared to get a rude waitress say "want the bill then?" No asking if our food was okay or even desserts of which my 9 year old son wanted an ice-cream and got upset with their being NO dessert offer. I said to the waitress we would have had dessert but nobody had came to ask us? She said OH? No apology, nothing! Our family drove from Birmingham to visit us and this was our first meal out together since CV-19. Didn't look busy we was just was left. As a 14 year experienced bar worker and waitress I found this disgusting! I'm not anymore a bar worker or waitress, i haven't been for many years but ABIT of politeness and checking tables with a smile wouldn't go a miss. Very...
