Update 19/04/2025 My mum decided to hold her 95th birthday party here on 16th April 2050. From designing the event in advance, seating arrangements, and menu selections The owners Dave and Steve, together with the ever busy and very efficient and helpful Jo simply could not have been more helpful in helping us make sure the lunch party went smoothly and without a hitch. It was a fantastic lunch amongst the total 17 family members and friends (many of whom were of the older generation with walkers and walking frames etc) but every potential problem seemed to have been foreseen and catered for. So well done Jo, she did a wonderful job looking after us all, seemingly almost single handed. Thank you all. Several years earlier......... My crew mate and I usually manage to pop in early on a Friday evening after a hard shift on our ambulance. Even though our beer intake is necessarily very limited and we dine only very occasionally we have always been made extremely welcome by owners and staff alike. Wonderful atmosphere, very clean, cosy and friendly, great choice of ales and excellent well prepared food. The ham egg and chips dish is my personal favourite. Well done lads and thank you.

Popped in for a drink. The pub has a lovely garden, partly covered but mostly laid to lawn with very pretty flower borders. There is plenty of seating. Inside the pub is quite dark. It has a jukebox and it plays in the garden too. They are closed on Mondays. There is a quiz night on Tuesdays and they offer a roast in Sundays There is a good size free car park

What a great Sunday roast they have!! They also have vegetarian Sunday roast and it was great. Staff came out to let us know that gravy sauce was vegetarian and we appreciated it!! It was a bit too much food for me (I have a small appetite) but enough for my husband & mother-in-law! Dessert was also yummy.

Must have been different staff on today at lunchtime as friendly is not how we found it. They only do machine coffee which in their words is very strong.. no help in getting a weak coffee ...no instant coffee so on a freezing day had to have water as dont drink anything else as too sweet. When ordering meals one was chips and beans and was asked in accusatory way ...just beans....yes was reply as your vegetarian choice is non existent except for jacket potatoe and cheeses and beans.

The tea cup is thick clay and hardly provides a couple of mouthfuls of tea.

All in all won't be going again and is a shame as we had looked forward to visiting. I cannot imagine why those who provide food and drink have to force people into having a preprogrammed drink where strength of drink cannot be amended on machine cannot offer a cup of hot water or have instant sachets for people who do not like strong coffee. And as for the crockery for tea... flabberghasted to say least as the cups were awkward to hold for mens large fingers and not big enough to satisfy any thirst. Having been a catering trade myself and running a catering stall it beats me why they go into business if they are not willing to...

A nice pub with some good decor, the gardens are large and have a lot of seating in various layouts. There's seating under the cover of gazebos and seating under a wooden pergola as well as open air seating and seating under a lovely tree.

We had an issue with food unfortunately on our visit as such there was none available as the pub had "Run out" there didn't appear to be many people there when we arrived so this may have just been an oversight or a one off mistake but disappointed none the less.

Overall, it was a great little spot, and the staff were friendly and helpful, and I'll try again for a food experience.

Tried again a few times and still never eaten here, last time kitchen closed at 2 and now I just bring...
