Unfortunately there is no drainage,and the pond has flooded everywhere...also looks like kids have been climbing on a tree and snapped it in half,onto the pathway......on a plus side,was greeted by a vixen , looked in good shape....but my dog was off her lead.....being a lurcher,she gave chase.....knew the fox would evade her, walked further down,called her back......as we were walking....two fox cubs.....only about 12 weeks old,were sunbathing on the path,so put the dog on the lead and let them be, heading back the other way.........so dog walkers beware...... keep them on the lead....cubs don't need to be food for dogs.....make sure mine is on the lead,next visit....big on conservation,but the foxes aren't doing damage down there....and it is a nature reserve after all....keep them safe,leash your...
Read moreWe recently came across this place as recently we always look out for some new local places where we can take our furry son for a walk. Well, to say it is small, it would say nothing. It took us around 40 min, if so, to cover the complete area.
The place looked unkept & wasn't clean, re: lots of rubbish was dumped by people everywhere, which I found very upsetting. :(
The lake was full of branches, which I think our Wolfdog was very happy about & tried to drug them out. So I guess he had some fun there! :)
At view points, all you would see, hmm, not much... is just the crowns of the trees. :)

Read moreBoth routes we tried for the advertised 'circuit' around the reserve were very poorly maintained. We tried one way round and ended up at a dead end. We then double backed on ourselves and tried the other path and ended up at a fallen tree and then a completely flooded section that was impassable.
Some of the drops down into the quarry were easily accessable, potentially very dangerous.
Unfortunately also quite a bit of litter.
From some of the older reviews it sounds like this used to be a much better...
