I went to Viv's for the first time, as I wanted to treat my mum. The place was packed (probably due to the Vintage day that was happening?), but the staff was extremely friendly and hard working. It did take quite some time for us to get our coffees and one slice of ready cake, but I suppose they were serving on a first come, first serve basis and it was very busy, so they must've accrued a backlog of orders. When the coffee did arrive, I was a bit disappointed. The lattes didn't taste of much, so either the coffee beans are weak or the barista didn't put enough coffee into it. The slice of coffee cake that we got was very tasty. The icing was a bit much for our liking, so we scraped some of it off. What was worrying was that we had 2 sharp pieces of walnut shell in our cake which I bit on. Considering how busy it was, we simply let one of the staff know and left, but I did suggest that they sell the cake with a disclaimer, especially if people are buying it for their children. I hope the young man passed on the feedback. While I wasn't too convinced on the food and drinks, I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff are absolutely lovely. I also realised that you can order 'proper' food, so I'll be going to give that a try at some point. I do want to give a shout-out to the lady taking the orders at the till at around 1pm and the young man serving and carrying up to 10-12? boxes of juice at some point. Having done this type of work before, I know it's stressful and physically demanding especially when it's this busy, but they were always friendly and helpful to those 'excuse me's around me.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Grange Chocolate Cafe in Wokingham, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with the comforting aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the sweet scent of chocolate. The atmosphere of the cafe is cozy and inviting, with warm lighting and comfortable seating. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure that I had everything I needed to enjoy my visit. Now let's talk about the chocolate. Oh my goodness, it was absolutely divine! The selection of chocolates and desserts available is impressive, with a wide variety of flavors and textures to choose from. Each bite was a heavenly experience, with rich and smooth chocolate melting in my mouth. Not only do they serve amazing chocolates, but the cafe also offers a range of delicious hot and cold beverages. Whether you're a coffee lover or a tea enthusiast, there's something for everyone to enjoy. I also appreciate the attention to detail in the presentation of the food and drinks. Every dish and cup was beautifully decorated, adding an extra touch of elegance to the overall experience. Overall, I cannot recommend the Grange Chocolate Cafe enough. It's a haven for chocolate lovers and a perfect spot to relax and indulge in some sweet treats. So, if you're in Wokingham or nearby, be sure to pay a visit to the Grange Chocolate Cafe. You won't be disappointed!

What an absolute gem. I don't live in the area, but I found this lovely place online. I booked the 'Snug' for our family to surprise our mum on her 80th birthday. We ordered the afternoon tea, and it was gorgeous. There was plenty of food and lots of tea and coffee, all served in a china tea service. The scones were absolutely amazing and huge. At short notice, they prepared a gluten-free selection for one of our party. We brought our own cake, and our dog was welcome too. The service was excellent, and the staff were polite and attentive. Our mum was delighted with her surprise and the location, food, and atmosphere. I would recommend this lovely cafe to anyone for any occasion. A huge thank you to everyone at The Chocolate Csfe for an exceptional experience.

This is a lovely place, in a rural setting, with plenty of tables inside and out. The outside tables are in a courtyard with umbrellas above, surrounded by nice little shops. However - and this is a big however - the ambience of the surroundings was ruined by empty tables stacked high with dirty crockery and cutlery. They were very understaffed; it took ages for our first group of cyclists to get their coffee and cake (40ish minutes). Our second group arrived right after the first group was served; we were served quite a bit faster as we arrived after the rush of people (not only cyclists, there were many tables occupied). As with other reviews, one of us had ordered the carrot cake and found pieces of walnut shells in it. That is not acceptable, especially as they have had complaints in the past. Also as with other reviews, my cappuchino was rather dish-watery not tasting of much. To add a bit of insult, I was overcharged - £5.10 instead of the advertised £4.95/slice and we had a bit of back and forth until I pointed the price tag on the cake out. I think at £9 for coffee and cake this is the most expensive cafe we have been to (and we have 4 rides go out a week to various cafes). For the price, I would expect top notch service, excellent coffee and no shells...
