Visited here for lunch with my mam and three kids, aged four and under. First visit in years although I was a frequent visitor to the original Voyager as a child. Was a Friday so busy but not packed, however the only tables available were high bar stool type ones, not great for kids or for feeding my newborn or a tightook near the back door so very drafty whenever anyone used it. I remember there being more tables available in the past. Lots of outdoor seating though for a milder day, and a play area that my hardy elder kids enjoyed. Think there are plans for some outdoor decking which will be lovely over summer. Outdoor seeing near the play are was a bit tired looking though and could do with the litter being collected. Service was great, and food arrived pretty swiftly and was lovely. We had the skinny halloumi burger and the veggie burger which was really really tasty. Curly fries were delicious too. Great value too as burgers are only £5 each on Fridays and Wednesdays.....
Read moreLiving locally, I went here a couple of years ago and was left underwhelmed by the offering at the time. Food was dry and prices were extortionate. Was persuaded to give it another go by a friend and glad I did: food is much higher quality now and prices are fantastic.
Atmosphere is very friendly and chilled, which is definitely my vibe, especially when in tow with the missus and step-daughter. Food didn't take too long to come out and staff were friendly and helpful.
The only minor gripe - and this is personal to me because I'm a greedy fat pig! - is the portion sizes could be a bit bigger. However, for a normal person, the portions are perfectly adequate. Car park could use a rejuvenation too; not too friendly for my precious tyres! Plenty of spaces available though.
All in all, a good pub/restaurant for Guisborough, and a definite recommend. Well done Voyager for...
Read moreI have been here several times int he past and found it OK, but today I really enjoyed the meal I had. which was was I call a 'clean meal' that is no fancy sauces etc, just Gammon, pineapple and chips. Gammon was very nicely cooked and thick - 8.oz, chips were a bit anaemic but nice, and garden peas. There was a good range of meals available, both' lite lunches' and main meals, salads, sandwiches etc.My meal was a little expensive compared to the two course lite lunch my friend had, but good. I finished the meal with a toffee waffle Sundae, again a bit pricey but in a long glass -knickerbocker style Staff were friendly and helpful, surroundings pleasant - plenty of tables.in little nooks and corners. Our favourite table is oval and could seat about eight if needed. others 4 or 2 - what I liked is that we could sit and chat and we weren't hustled out when we had...
