Wayside Chinese Takeaway — Restaurant in England

Not impressed. The lady taking the orders there has no customer service skills. I went there at 7.40 pm and stayed in the queue. When it was my turn she said that I will have to wait an hour to get the food. It was busy indeed but she should have announced that as soon as people started queuing not when they already stayed in the queue. We have had takeaway from them once in the past and their rice is bad. I personally could do much better rice than they do. Never had such bad rice before cooked by a Chinese takeaway. We have ordered Chicken in Black bean sauce and Kung Pao Chicken ( I think) but only the one in Black bean sauce was acceptable. The food wasn't good and we knew that but it was on our way home and it could have saved me cooking so late. So besides average to bad food, now the customer service is bad. Not...

Been wanting to try this place for a long time. Went last night, directly to the takeaway to order over the counter! Service was quick, efficient, friendly and super easy! It seemed rather busy at the time we ordered. Phone ringing, plenty of customers in the shop! We had our food in no time and had placed quite a large order! Absolutely piping hot even after taking it home!

And the food... My gosh it's amazing and took me back to being a kid in the back of a Chinese takeaway when I was young!! Proper old school, proper classic flavours and proper quality of dishes!!

We had the beef satay, sweet and sour chicken, mushroom curry and chicken with cashews! The latter reminded me of a hot and sour soup but with nuts thrown in! Absolutely gorgeous. We'll definitely be coming back...

Food good, customer service is appalling. My daughter collected a large takeaway order but on getting home found a portion of rice missing. She returned to ask for the rice only to be challenged by the woman from the kitchen who refused to believe her and intimidated my daughter to the point she became upset and other customers checked to see if she was ok whilst she was forced to wait after paying again for rice that was never received. Wayside, do you really think if someone was trying to get free food they’d pick a portion of rice??? Shame on you. Disgraceful behaviour and when you’re dependent on local trade to see you through the low season, not a good way to treat your local customers.
